Sonic 4's first song released

Sega finally let us hear some of the game's soundtrack, and even have the song free to download on their site.

From the sounds of it, composition aims to be fairly retro, going as far as to include Genesis sounds like drums.
So...thoughts?

At first I was thinking why it is so calm and not nearly like Green Hill zone from 2 and then...

wait a second; Green Hill zone music is just as calm!

so - I think it's all right, as it is with retro, yet new genre
