    Nintendo has released the "DoItAll" game for the nds which acts as a PDA or something like that.

    Do you think they could release some homebrew that could somehow be useful.. uhm.
    like a scientfic/ statistical calculator? or a powerpoint/msword reader?

    something useful in school?

    DSOrganize has a scientific calculator in it, and there's GraphDS, plus the TI-83+ emulator WabbitDS. Take your pick.

    Powerpoint or Word viewers may be possible, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. You'd be better off using something like Paperless Printer to print the Powerpoint presentation to a series of JPEGs and then use ComicBook DS to view them. For Word, best to save to TXT format and open in one of the many text viewers for the DS.
