This thread would have been more useful in a "what homebrew would you like to see" or "3DS homebrew ideas" thread... Which I'm sure already exists. It would be pretty awesome to play on 3DS, although it would take a great deal of effort to make an engine to build a game that builds games, especially on 3DS. I would like to see this too if any devs get itchy to start a potentially huge project like this.

maybe at the start, like your pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha bare-bones, but once you will reach 100% probably the 3ds will instacrash.

It won't :P I'm a poor guy, and I can't haz a WiiU, nor a new new3DS, so it's gonna be old3DS-optimized. The 3D feature will be definitely new3DS-only, but otherwuse it'll be for old3DS

Here's one guy that works on a mario maker.

Ye', it's my repo :P Because the name "MarcusD" was used, I had to register with that name.

Nice! How is it going with your mm project? :)

There is absolutely nothing preventing you from doing it yourself. Before you say something like 'I don't know how to code' etc. everyone who does this for a hobby of professionally once didn't know either. Learning to code doesn't take as long as you might think, some of the great 3ds homebrew you see is often peoples first coding projects. So give it a try, the leaning process is by far the best part.

A very challenging task. The physics of the engine would be very difficult to program. So many elements that can interact and combine.
