Hacking Some help please with zelda modded wii

Hi all
I know this info is probably posted somehwere else but I have looked and cant find it.
The problems with my wii are:-
No shopping channel
I want to update from 3.2 to latest 4.1?
Want to get new nintendo channel/internet channel update
Also too many backup loaders on the wii system menu (my fault I think)

So am i right in thinking that I should do a nand backup first (there is no way to factory reset my wii to original??) then update via internet to latest firmware and then go through the soft mod installation.

Sorry if this has already been answered b4. Please help!!

1. NAND backup first is always good.
2. Update to 4.1 using the Ultimate 4.0 Guide (search this forum).
3. Use WiiSCU (find it on wiibrew.org) to install the latest shop channel.

Will try this out.
One further question - does using the ultimate guide mean that it will completely replace all the channels in the syem menu and will only leave one backup channel??

Assuming you still have all the .wads you installed in the first place, just use wadmanager to uninstall all your .wads/channels. Make sure to clear some space in the nand before updating (maybe delete some game saves). You can just use Waninkoko's safe updater to reach 4.0 first, and then use safe 4.1 updater.

If you can install bootmii to boot2 and make a nand backup, then please do, and consider yourself lucky. This will ensure that even if you mess up royaly, that people here can help you save your Wii if the worse of worst happens.

Nope, updating will not touch your channels. You can safely remove installed channels such as backup launchers by deleting them from the Memory menu in the Wii system settings, or if you want to be completely thorough you can use the original wad to uninstall the channel and its ticket in a wad installer.

I went through the Ultimate 4.0 Guide - but for some reason my wii says 2.1 for the firmware at the moment .
Not sure whats going on - will try again when I have the time and report back
