Homebrew some cheats not working - DS2

Can't fix the title of the thread, sorry. Game is Devil Survivor 2. Emulator is Desmume.

it seems rather strange to me but i keep finding random cheats that don't work, even though others have claimed(repeatedly) that they should.

Both codes should multiply exp gained, but do not.
i have tried both versions several times.

i don't know if its desmume that's the problem or the codes themselves.
