Hello there!

I am kind of lost here about all the news about specterdevs release exploit on 4.05. (thanks for his release and great dev skills btw) :-)

My questions are here below :

1. What can you do after install the exploit and go to the debug mode? (Have a ps4 on fw 3.55)
2. I have a PS4 pro on FW 4.07 and flat_z told on twitter that someone need to backport it from 4.55 to 4.05. This mean i need to update to 4.55 for go back to 4.05 if i want to run the exploit after release?
3. Is there already a way for install PKG? ( Specter let us know before that GTA did work but not sure it was discless)
3. Have also a ps4 on fw 5.00 here, may'be need to not update anymore like now the ps4 scene in very active?

Hope people for the community here can help me about the questions above and already wish you all a nice end and a great begin of 2018.

Kind regards!

1. Tools are progressing / Ported very fast - Games should be booting soon.
2. 4.55 to 4.05 and not other waey around - You cant downgrade ps4 as of now. You can sometimes lower your firmware with a hard drive swap but you need to test and see what base FW the PS4 asks for.
3. I believe some have got PKGs installed.
4. Staying low as possible has always been the ticket.

How can you lower the firmware with a hard drive swap? Please elaborate.

It really isn't possible, technically it could happen, but not naturally like if you were on 3.55 you couldn't just swap the hard drive for a 1.76 one.

Basically some firmwares are not required, those are the firmwares that has the chance to lower a bit. I.E. you are on 4.85, but 4.86 came out, however, it's not required for PSN access etc...this most likely means 4.86 can be downgraded to 4.85, just not lower.

I don't feel like this would be a 100% thing, not to mention what would happen to the efuses?
