I played the crap out of BotW. I beat Odyssey pretty fast and it was very good, but it didn't last long. Haven't touched my Switch since. I recently bought Superbeat Xonic for it, but even though the screen is bigger and nicer, it plays better on my Vita due to the symmetric controls. Splatoon 2 bored me to death, Idk why. I'm super hyped for SMT IV since SMT IV was my favorite 3DS game. That's about it.
If I could only have either a PS4 or a Switch I would choose the PS4 hands down. It just has so much more. The Switch definitely has some amazing titles, but they just aren't enough for it to be a primary console.

Well yeah, Switch cannot bend time. This is still its release year, and PS4's release year was lame. I'd also say you're missing out on a lot of great titles on the eShop (Golf Story, Stardew Valley, Axiom Verge). A few years down the line though, and Switch's library will have exploded at a rate faster than most consoles, since both portable and console devs will be drawn to it.
I've still got three big games from this year to beat on Switch: Rabbids Kingdom, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Fire Emblem Warriors.

I'm not a fan of indies, but I'll try some every once in a while. Already played Axiom Verge. Maybe I'll get Fire Emblem Warriors, but after watching dunkey's video on Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I know I won't be able to play that game without non stop eye-rolling.
I agree with you about the PS4 release year, but this isn't its release year. Buying a Switch is still sort of a gamble while the PS4 is a sure thing. The best thing would definitely be to get both, but if that's not possible I would pick the PS4 for sure.
Yakuza 0 and kiwami 1 and 2 and later 6 is ps4 exclusive, did you see them some where else?
Crash 1 2 3 are ps1 exclusive and the remake on ps4 only, if you mean the one on the Wii, that game is terrible.
According to your logic, Mario is not exclusive for nintendo consoles because there is Mario run on iOS and Android.

The remaster of Yakuza 1 and 2 was released on Wii U.
Crash Bandicoot has had games on Gamecube, GBA, N-Gage (yep), NDS, Wii, Xbox 360, and Xbox. Also whatever the fuck a Zeebo is.
Nah I won't count mobile.
No body cares about all those Crash games, they are no way as good as the original.
Yakuza 1 and 2 are just HD on the Wii U unlike kiwami 1 and 2, where is 3 4 5 6 and 0? Ya those are PlayStation exclusive.
The OP is about ps4 vs switch, and as a person who own PS3 PS4 Wii Wiiu Switch and PC I can say PS4 beats the Switch by miles.
Mario is fun and I really enjoyed it, but that's it for the switch for now and it's just there to collect dust until they have strong games in the future.
Just to pick you up on an inaccuracy in your comment. The Yakuza 1 and 2 HD release for the Wii U is not the same version that was remastered for PS4. PS4 got an extended story with new content and they remastered it using the engine they'd used to create Yakuza 0. The Wii U HD bundle was the same HD bundle released on PS3 minus the new content, extended story and up-hauled graphics engine. So in that respect, it is exclusive. The Crash Bandicoot versions you mentioned were the crappy sequels and spin-offs. Yes you are correct when you mention that the crash trilogy was on PS1, but brace yourself because this is going to come as a surprise, the PS1, much like the PS4 was also a product of Sony's. The Crash games, much like Yakuza 1 and 2 have been rebuilt from the ground up, and like those iterations, it is again exclusive.
Guerilla are never going to release Horizon on another platform considering the money Sony are paying them, nor did they ever release Killzone on any other platform (btw the Vita is owned by Sony too). The fact you mentioned Golf Story, Stardew Valley and Axiom Verge really speaks volumes as to the system's power. It's like comparing B movies to theatrical releases.
Switch vs PS4 vs PC comes down to two things
1. Games that you like
2. Portability
3. Graphics
The most important thing is the games. The PS4 has the edge in regards to quantity and number of exclusives and access to multiplatforms.
The Switch has the edge in regards to quality of exclusives (compare platforming of ANY PS4 game to Odyssey), BOTW etc. They just ooze class and refined perfection and what they do.
PC beats them both in regards to being able to 4k any title in the last 10 years, a lot of which will look really nice with AC, etc. However I'll now stop talking about PC because its probably about 3-4x the cost of both systems whilst lacking the intuitive hardware and superior gaming experience of the other 2 from a fluidity and pickup + play perspective.. but mainly price.
If you want the best graphics, get a gaming rig.
If you want portability and find yourself not completing or even playing a lot of your games, get a Switch.
If you find you are more of a couch gamer, and a lot of third party titles really grab your attention, definitely get a PS4.
I have all 3 now. I can easily say given I have a job with lengthy hours but some down time and commutes, the Switch will be a godsend. I will 99% complete every Switch game I have which can't be said for my PS4 or PC.
Looking at the games, I much prefer Nintendo's titles tbh. Everything they do, they just do right. I do like a lot of PS4 games A LOT, especially TLOU. However, I feel like I'm playing a movie in a lot of their exclusive titles. I really had to force myself through the uncharted series at times, and after 10-20 hour campaigns, I couldn't help thinking I'd taken part in a film with loads of scripted set pieces rather than an actual game, which then begs the quesiton why not just watch 10 films rather than play a game with an average story. Thats not to say the PS4 doesn't have great games specifically centring on gameplay... because Bloodborne is exactly that and a beautiful title which EVERY system should be jealous of.
The PS4 quite simply has nailed third party support. When you factor in games like Persona 5, FF 15, Kingdom Hearts 3; I definitely move towards the PS4. Personally for me, it becomes slightly difficult in that will I find the time to play all these titles? If you can find the time to complete these titles without any portability, move towards the PS4.
I really think they both work in tandem. The question isn't which one should you get, but which one should you get now and the best way to answer that is which titles do you want to play the most at present. Any gamer should really experience titles from both systems and both will become dirt cheap eventually. The PS4 is pretty much there, the Switch is probably 2 years off.
IF I was buying RIGHT NOW, I personally think Odyssey + BOTW in portable format swing it for me. It speaks volumes that nearly every single game reviewer has GOTY as Odyssey or BOTW despite the HUGE amount of other titles such as Divinity Original sin 2, Horizon. If portability doesn't matter, then the PS4 edges it due to the volume of games you have at your disposal.
You basically can't go wrong. I do find Nintendo's games have a lot more charm and magic about them, more concerned with gameplay + mechanics. Sony's titles seem to be trying to emulate a film still, with more corridor type gaming and trying to offer up a very rigid narrative. I remember being frustrated in TLOU over the fact there was sometimes only one way to solve a puzzle which was by placing some dumb ass ladder etc. etc. This is boring as hell to me, not challenging and just not absorbing. Then compare that to Odyssey where in the first hour I've taken control of missile to pass this huge ass gap, then I've controlled like 5 goombas, walked them over in ice, jumped off of them to control three more goombas, jumped ontop of them again to get a power star etc. etc. A lot of people really hate on Nintendo but I feel if I were to critically analyse the gameplay of their titles, they really do trounce a lot of other developers. They are NOT the most up to date tech wise... no one can argue they are with no analogue triggers lol... but they nail what they do IMO.
I hate the fact a lot of fans just cant appreciate the reality that both systems are awesome for different people and different games.

If you are poor or on a budget, I understand. In that case a low-end gaming rig will probably best a PS4 and the games are dirt cheap and the library is huge. If PC gaming turns you off, the PS4 is so old now that a lot of AMAZING titles will be available at GREAT prices.
If you are on a budget, I'd steer clear of the Switch as its very expensive when you take into account pro controller, extra joy cons, screen protectors, cases and the fact Nintendo's games can hold their value for 2-3 years. I don't think you'll ever find any PS4 game holding its value like that.

You had the pro but didn't play it enough. Therefore I'd now buy a switch and purchase a PS4 Pro at a later date.
Ive been in the same position as you with both my PS4, Wii U and Gaming PC. I have bought plenty of games for all of them but sadly find myself not completing or being drawn to them.
Try the Switch for a few months and see how it goes. The portability aspect is HUGE and makes titles which you otherwise wouldn't play VERY accessible. If its not for you, you can still probably sell it and recuperate most of what you paid for it in a few months... and then buy a PS4 Pro which will probably suffer another price drop with the XBOX One X landing and putting pressure on the Sony price point.

I only said the series weren't exclusive, so you're just agreeing with me now. Though I don't find any Crash games to be good.
IMO PS4 isn't even as good as PS3 or PS2 yet, and nowhere near as good as PC. Switch doesn't even really have to compete with PS4, but PS4 has to compete with everything else.
Plenty of people are still working on the current Mario titles, of course it's not just sitting on shelves.

PS4 is so boring. PS3 actually had games. A lot of these PS4 games are also on PC so it doesn't feel worth it. Then you got the Switch which has way more exclusives (that are actually fun cause they *gasp* focus on gameplay first). Wii U/Switch and PC. Can't go wrong with that combo.

That's not really a problem with PC, you still get a lot more power for the increase in size. More a credit to Switch for bringing games from PC and other consoles to a portable form factor with full controllers. As well as first-party games of course.

I'd agree, but they're going to be changing things up for the Switch Pokegame. All that extra power demands it to some extent.
The thing is about the switch, it's only running a Tegra GPU. It's really not powerful at all. The only good games out for the switch are the 1st party games like Zelda (but I have a hacked WiiU to play Zelda).
I would of kept the PS4 honestly, but that's my opinion. I also have a gaming PC.
Death Stranding is going to be a PS4 exclusive too. And I will probably buy the latest final fantasy soon.
