Hacking Softchip r99, wii 4.2E, Exception: loctl error (DI_ReadID) problem

Ok guys need a little help. My wii has just been softmodded using xzxero's guide but when i try to use softchip i get this.

Exception: loctl error (DI_ReadID)

Does anyone know how to fix this.

i'm pretty sure the error is ioctl (not Loctl). This might help in your searching.

Probably the media you are using...

Either media, either DVD+R your fault, or drive can't read backups.

or you dont have a cIOS installed or the dvd's are from bad quality
