Since i used r64 softchip as a channel i cant open it anymore , i can see the channel and when i click it it goes to the channel but when i press begin it turns the screen black an doesnt do anything anymore???

Nope. Still no idea why this isn't working.

My r51 WAD that I had made awhile ago still works perfectly fine, but the r62 (\Root\Softchip\loader.dol) linker channel doesn't work - still code dumps.

EDIT: OK. I've got r64 working thru the linker channel. Don't know if it makes any difference with how I did it, but first I injected r64 into my old WAD, which I installed and launched fine. I changed some settings for the configuration file and then launched the game. All fine. Then I restarted the Wii, launched the loader channel and it doesn't code dump, but my configurations file didn't load the options I had selected before. Is that a problem that's being worked on? Or do I need to update the configuration file from the loader channel to get it to save?

EDIT2: Code dump! r64 worked fine from the linker channel once, but now that I reset the Wii and loaded it again, I'm getting the code dump. What's going on?

You are talking about the LinkingChannel, right?

Make sure, the Directory for the loader.dol is written with "capital S and capital C" ..\SoftChip
Also you could try to place r64 as loader.dol and try again.

//EDIT:
Could you try with r60 or any other rev, plz?
Could you post a screenshot of the dump?

For all problems concerning the SoftChip Linker Channel, plz continue

Sorry for being a noob but what exactly does a linking channel link?

What is it suppose to do?

It is a way of having a channel linked directly to SoftChip which you do not have to change each time a new revision is released, as you can just change the file it loads off of the SD card.

Wouldn't it just be better to have updates that you can download? I mean you can ask forsaeken to do it cause he knows how.

Yes, I'm with you. Would really be a good thing.
I'm pretty sure, the gurus of SoftChip could implement it.
But I wonder if this has priority on their dashboard.

Considering that there has been no official release and that these Revs are mainly being released to further increase progress towards an official release, it's probaply not a priority.

I could NOT get this to work for so long :|

All it was, was the goddamn wii I was experimenting with doesn't seem to like the verbatim 1:1 backups that my wiikey'd model did. Is that right?

It LOVED cheap media, and dvd-r though. Just have to say, thanks. Softchip is an awesome piece of programming.

I'm going to continue experimenting, as I have got my paws on another unmodded wii. I'll see if this is as fussy with +r.

WiiShizzza is your wad good im running on 3.3u it wont brick me wii i saw that someone posted that they had a problem with it dont want to brick it

LinkingChannel won't brick you but somehow some people experienced only codedumps with it... We're still pointing out, why is this...

i have a cfg file loading issue from r61.
Now i'm using r64, there is a file named default.cfg at /sd/SoftChip, but however i did change the value such as cIOS, autoboot... it still load the default setting IOS36 & others default settings at every boot.

Here is file content.

Hi, I have a lot of time using the charger and I wiigator works perfectly but I have a question, which is facing softchip differences?
Both use the same 36 rev7 CIOs?
