play my cube and wii games from a flash drive (32 GB) just fine

so i bought a external HDD (1 TB) so i could fit more and i cant get it to work

i formatted it in exFAT at 64kilobyte size (i heard 32 was prefered, but 64 seems to be the lowest windows will let me do)

what's my problem? is it the 64kb thing? is the hdd too new and/or large?

USB loader GX "sees" it, because it boots into it and shows 931GB in one of the menus, but i tried backing up a Wii game to it and it says "not enough space"

what do i need to try?

There are a lot of partitioning tools out there, I personally use Easeus Partition Master, it's free and really easy to use.

so i'm guessing that NTSF at 32KB clusters wont work either?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

hmmmm. darn, NTSF works fine for Wii games, but not Gamecube? seems like

launche USBLoaderGX, insert the disc, select "install".
if it tells you it's already installed, it's strange.

either :
- it's really already installed. (is it not displayed?)
- it's not installed, but another game is using the same TitleID (games are listed based on their TitleID)
- it's partially installed because a previous install failed? look on your HDD and delete the folder and the .wbfs file in it. Then, install again by inserting the disc and choose install.

if after deleted + reinstall step, it still doesn't display in the loader, there are few reason we will see later.

yep, i tried another game (Avatar) and installed it, the bar went all the way across like it was working, then said "succesfully installed" and is not showing up.

they are actually going into the wbfs folder though, and look just like the 3 games i already have in there (that i didnt "install")

they are fatal frame 4, 2, and Alice in Wonderland. and they work fine btw

i'm gonna try deleting and re-installing the first game (Nascar Kart Racing) to see if what you said to do works

ohsnap!, i did a "cover download" hoping that would make them show up, and everything but my Gamecube games disappeared now.

ok, so the problem is the filtering.

the loader has few options to sort and hide games based on different elements :
1. game type (4th icon of top menu)
but you said you already have "wii" enabled.

2. Favorite level (the star at the top left of the top menu)
Favorite icon only display games with at least 1 star, and hide non-star'd games.
it also displays non-star'd games for 3 days if : A) it's a newly installed game (never had it before) and B) you didn't disable "display new" option.

3. Category feature
You can display games based on their genre (adventure, RPG, sports, cars, etc.)
it's the "desk" icon in the top menu.
to display ALL games, be sure you have a check mark (not a cross) in the "All" category.

4. Parental control
Games can also be hidden based on the parental level (ESRB, etc.)
but they are only hidden if the loader is locked (for kids) using the top-right lock icon in the top menu.

5. I think there's another thing which can affect displayed game list (other than temporary title search), I forgot :P

6. only for gamecube : you can choose to list only SD, only USB, or both.

another possibility can be multiple partition issue.
it might only display one folder, and not all games on all partitions at the same time. (there's an option to list all partitions at once)
but the game should appear after you (re)install it. So, I don't think that's the problem.
