Apparently someone in Serebii translated info from pokemon-safari and found that:

1. Giratina, Regigigas, and Shaymin will be obtainable in-game in their alt forms.
2. Since Giratina is the main focus in the storyline of Pokemon Platinum, there will be a new area to explore known as the Inverse Universe (which is described in its Pokedex entry).
3. The two main characters of Diamond and Pearl, Lucas and Dawn, have new outfits. Lucas's shirt is now silver and that seems to point to more evidence of Johto remakes.

Thoughts?

...........................I wouldn't really download this to my flashcart I have already beaten D\P and this is pretty much the exact game with minor differences, and pokemon is becoming boring on the DS I suggest playing a older game like red\blue or maybe a hack? This is more like a money making scam for people without flashcarts to waste 40$ on a replica of D\P.Nintendo should cancel this and make something new or maybe make a remake of G\S.(This is just my opinion on this topic no harsh or hatred like feelings)
But Pokemon will remain the best selling RPG or game I should refer to as on a handheld for may more handhelds to come.

Then why is Dialga and Palkia still in it o.O That makes no sense.

Story plot wise? Maybe absorbed their powers or something. . . like some kind of Vampiric Freak of nature it's supposed to be or something. . .

You know what they should really make? A Pokemon MMO, with al the regions in one, including a new one. The maps will be remade, so it'll fit the MMO structure, and made sure to have multiple survers. All the stuff that was in the D/P will be available, and there will be a 100 new pokemon to capture. And there is no legendary in that list.

A Pokemon MMO would make no sense? How would battle works? Real time Pokemon battles? I don't know but when i think of MMO's I think of grinding like in WoW. . . I wouldn't see how Pokémon would be made into a MMO. . . Sure exploring around and doing storyline stuff would be cool and all, but it might be super boring to play. At least in WoW you can dress up your characters nicely. In Pokémon? Put a bow on your pikachu and level him to a theoretical 100. . . and then have WoW-like Raids on Legendary Pokémon like Mew. . . so there would be

So it's official. Huh...well, I think at best I'd download and check it out, though I don't know how long I'd play it since I really struggled to get through Pearl willingly. I mean, it's really the same thing the fourth time over. I didn't even beat the Advance series (either one, the RSE or FRLG) games. Mind you, that I've played through at least Blue and Yellow and hacked into Red, and beat all of Silver that I could, the games now just...I don't know, they don't really have that charm anymore. If anything, it's even more complex now than it used to be, which turns me off. Abilities, IVs, EVs, and they added a whole bunch of Pokemon that I really don't care for but to catch. And I've already bloody caught them before!!

There's also no real storyline either. Boy/girl sets out to defeat the Elite Four. Along the way, he/she stops a number of plots to destroy the world/control the world/etc. and catches a number of legendary Pokemon, throwing the balance of nature off-course forever. And that may be why I like PMD so much. Actual storyline (especially in the most recent one) and the battle system actually makes sense! That and it's actually hard, though not so much because you forgot to pack a certain type to defeat a certain ludicrous combination of types, or some other tripe.

So yes, I will at best check this out and then decide.

Same reason that Groudon/Kyogre were still in Emerald.

And I am surprised at how many people are calling foul on this.
*Red/Blue/Yellow
*Gold/Silver/Crystal
*Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
*Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

Every game has had an enhanced-over-time third version, why wouldn't the DS get their's?

I just wonder how they're going to be tradeable, 'cause if it is tradeable with D/P then wouldn't that mean the data should already be somewhat stored into the D/P game? Or is it because their forms get switched when being traded? Just wondering what would happen if D/P really does include 'new' pokemon. Limitations on trading like G/S/C --> R/B/Y had?

Do you know what I want to see? I would like to see some kind of love story development in Pokémon. . . Two different stories for the genders, so that if you were a girl you wouldn't be doing the exact same thing as the guy would to catch the other gender's heart. This could add replay value, and change up the typical save-the-world from Team _____ with your 1337 Pokémanz.

Pokemon Love Story???

UPDATE: Damn, CockroachMan got there before me... 4 hours before me.
Hey, I don't check User Submitted News, you know!
I'm guessing I'll have to wait another year for a new Pokémon game instead of an 'enhanced' one.

It seems each time the 'third wheel' of a generation (ie. Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and now Platinum) comes out, there's less and less incentive to buy the game and less and less new additions.

Ok, so perhaps we don't know everything about the game and what it adds quite yet but still...if you already own Diamond or Pearl, what really are they offering to make you shell out another load of cash? Hell, if you're someone who was waiting for a third, 'improved' version to the series then what's keeping you from buying Diamond or Pearl instead which would be that little bit cheaper by the time Platinum hits the shelves?

At least with Yellow it was something that bit different to Red and Blue. Same game essentially but a little different on the story side, different Pokemon, the whole Pikachu thing (the kind of Virtual Pet element), the fact that the game was more focussed around the anime and so on...new stuff to unlock etc. etc.

With Crystal it dipped, but you still had stuff like the battle tower, different 'mon to catch, battle animations, slightly different story added on with Suicune etc. and (for the Japanese) the mobile adapter deal.

Emerald dipped it again, but there was plenty of battle tower stuff if that was your thing and the whole Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza little side story...but pushing it for buying the game again.

And, to me at least based on what we know so far, Platinum has hit a new low. It's not going to be a bad game by any means (don't get me wrong - I loved Diamond and Pearl) but it's not going to be anything new, anything significantly different enough to warrant the price tag of a new game.

Sorry Nintendo...but I think I'll stick it out until the next game in the series. Or a G/S remake.
