That's crazy, you made this without even knowing about Padcon?! Simply put, Padcon is a homebrew app as well as a plugin for the Wii U Plugin System homebrew that allows you to set hotkey(s) to turn on and off the Gamepad's screen (default is R3, but I believe you get the option to change the hotkey anytime you enable the homebrew). Granted, the controller remains active, even the touch controls still work, it just helps you save battery on the Gamepad by turning off and on the display as you desire whenever you want.

@MetoMeto You write that you didn't take any photos of the inside. Does the switch break a wire or a conductor on the PCB? Which one?

@MetoMeto At first thank you very much for the inspiration. As a person who has no clue of electronic circuits I don't want to mess this up. I would really appreciate it, if you make a tutorial or just post some pictures of the gamepads inside. That would help me a lot! Thanks!

You don't need to make a cut. Check out what I bought from this dude on etsy. You do need to get the screws off of your original back plate. But with some wire snipping, light soldering and heating, you can have a on/off switch and charge your gamepad using a USB-C cable. It's the best.
