There was a news article on Joystiq that Nintendo has sucessfully closed R4 factorys or somecrap.

I doesn't mean anything. Nintendo has been against flashcarts from the beginning. It really doesn't change anything really.

Just because Japan banned these carts, doesn't mean anything. Nearly all, if not all, come out of China.

If the R4 goes, so will the rest of the flashcarts (eventually). Just hope this doesn't apply outside of Japan any time soon.

I do not know, but I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo holds a little bit more sway over things.

A ban of ALL flashcarts in japan means, homebrew developers like Roudolph will have to stop working on things like NDS backup tool, gba exploader. Moonshell dev will mostly slow down to fewer developers and such.

I dont think it will have any major effect on homebrew.
Sure, it will be harder for the people living in Japan to get the flashcarts, but:
1). It wont be impossible to get flashcarts.
2). This isn't against homebrew.
3). Not all homebrew comes from Japan.
