What are you talking about? The fact that the R4 team doesn't exist anymore, or the fact that the newer games don't work on the R4?

Yeah, OK....Is there anybody who even cares, and it's old news......There is no R4 for a long time, only clones!

I'm sorry, I was under impression that it's a completely different article, this thing is fresh, and thread deserves to be open..I'm sorry once again!

(thanks to omgdaniel for pointing it out!)

    Thread re-opened!

I doesn't mean anything. Nintendo has been against flashcarts from the beginning. It really doesn't change anything really.

Just because Japan banned these carts, doesn't mean anything. Nearly all, if not all, come out of China.

If the R4 goes, so will the rest of the flashcarts (eventually). Just hope this doesn't apply outside of Japan any time soon.

You dont think that Japan being the Capitol of the Nintendo Empire has anything to do with it? [IMG]
I do not know, but I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo holds a little bit more sway over things.

your personal understanding of the situation is more or less than expected.

A ban of ALL flashcarts in japan means, homebrew developers like Roudolph will have to stop working on things like NDS backup tool, gba exploader. Moonshell dev will mostly slow down to fewer developers and such.

Pretty sure moonshell is dead. He released the last version and said he was done.

I dont think it will have any major effect on homebrew.
Sure, it will be harder for the people living in Japan to get the flashcarts, but:
1). It wont be impossible to get flashcarts.
    2). This isn't against homebrew.
3). Not all homebrew comes from Japan.

This doesn't mean something for the ones that have a r4 already, right?

I would guess if you did something wrong and the Japanese police searched your home it could be considered contraband...
