Yes, you can modify the roms names or delete unnecessary entries in the info.xml. For example your rom is called "2020 Super Baseball.zip" the in info.xml change :

If you don't have thousand of games, you can do that manually else there's risk to write errors. You just have to keep this structure "" for each game.

I tried, and it won't recognize it. I only did three games so far just to test, but they never show up when I click the "+" symbol. >.< I'll try it again, but I'm really not sure what I may have done wrong.

Thanks for this Mod Wiimpathy! Thought I'd share some cover collections here.

Cover Set Update!

Update 03-11-12: Added an SNES 3D Cartridge Set, and an NES 2D Cartridge Set. Also added links to preview all of the files on Photobucket.

Update 03-07-12: Updated snes9xgx sets (Added some Covers). The 2D set was mostly replaced by a more vibrant set and looks a little more alive. See spoiler for example.

New 2D Set

Update 03-05-12: Updated all fceugx cover sets.

Update 03-03-12: Soo.... I've been updating my VbaGX Coversets. Have not only added to them, but have fixed the perspective on the 3D covers to display the proper aspect ration instead of bieng stretched. From here on out, everything will be of the proper aspect ratio. See the spoiler below to see what I'm talking about. I also adjusted and updated the Snes9xGx Cart Covers. Although they weren't off much being stretched, the corrected aspect ration definately makes a difference.

Stretched: Prior Sets

Proper Aspect Ratio: Current Sets
007-EverythingorNothingUM3.png

Also, I've added GBC and GBA cartridge sets! GB set will be coming in the next few weeks.

And FYI, the newer sets are named to my roms, sorry.. but not really, because the majority of the covers (especially GBA) needed to be renamed to not exceed the character limit anyways, so if you name your roms to match these covers, you'll be all good and everything will display correctly.

Wimpathy please add emu\roms how root folder (or other path if you change roms folder on options) and no show level up on this folder, i have dsi dumps if click on it and leave roms folder.

Your request is justified galen2, but I won't modify this part unless I'll add another feature that would interest me : browsing games by genres.
However, it's not easy to incorporate with such a big database, and the different naming conventions.
So it's very unlikely that I'll release this as it would be the same as the games descriptions : long for scripts/c code, very few people interested (well, at least me!) and surely not convenient.
For you "problem" right now, the only way is to not click till the root, sorry. In fact, I don't see why you'd want to go outside the games folders except a bad manipulation (yes, I understand it can happen when too nervous, drunk, etc ...).

Now, something totally different. Some versions with cios 202 instead of 58 for usb2. For me, it's a little faster when browsing in cover view in snes9xGX. I know it's not recommended by coders with far more knowledge than me in wii coding but you're free to test and judge.

Snes9xGX 4.2.8 with cios 202
http://dommagemais.f...5%20cios202.zip

FCE Ultra GX 3.2.6 with cios 202
http://dommagemais.f...2%20cios202.zip

No VBA-GX, but should be easy for someone to add it or else I'll do it if you're interested in testing it.

Thanks for the new versions! despite I don't load through USB, but who knows tomorrow. cios 202 IS faster, this is a known fact. But programmers chose ios58 for some burocracy reasons...

Actually there might be many features worth to implement if you are interested or know how.
For example I recently discussed in this thread about allowing 7zip files to open as files (just like zip files do) and not as folders.
Or the ability to delete savestates in the same place where you load them.

And dont be so mean, come on if it's easy release VBA-GX hehe :P

I won't make a categorical statement on this cios debate, I have my opinion but who cares. At least, one thing is sure, I'm not a bureaucrat ...

Your request might be interesting. Not sure a lot a people concerned though.
For extra features, I have ideas and imagination too. But, here I was just expressing from my user point of view.
The problem is not what but how. Tantric has made an excellent interface (and more) for these emulators. My little contribution to the alternative versions (thanks to giantpune and psiko of course) should be enough at the moment.

Ok, since you're not an asshole but rather a good person making efforts and helping : VBA-GX 2.2.5 Cover cios202 http://dommagemais.free.fr/progs/wii/VBA-GX/VBA-GX%202.2.5%20Cover%20v3%20cios202.zip
In fact, I already compiled this but forgot about it.

thanky! Today I did some more GBA covers, I got seriously annoyed in the mean time XDD but I already have like 50 made. I will upload them when finished some time in the future.

About the 7zip thing, I tried to convert some roms from zip to 7z and suprised at how much size it saved (even for a single rom), so I thought it'd be a plus, just that its folder behaviour personally annoyed me, some people prefer it for holding different region versions...

btw I just realised, these tantric emulators GUI are all set for 4:3 right? That's why I see all the images expanded horizontally. This is very rare, nowadays few people have 4:3 TVs

If your trying to fill up your empty 2D GBA covers, I just put up 1100 of them sized properly 'n ready to go! Check 'em out.

If you're making 3D covers, that'd be awesome, i'd be all over those!

Thanks mastershoes I downloaded them to see if I could use some, but I'm making them on PAL covers, also I'm treating them individually removing blotches and doing color correction (I recently bought a calibrator for my daily work so it helps!). You can see the quality I target at my previous GB classic pack. I mean, I do this for myself that's why I'm so slow but so much work worths sharing in the end. It also helps me to tide up the roms.

In regards to 4:3 TVs, I know hundreds of people can come here and tell me, hey! I use an old CRT, which in fact is ideal for a Wii, but being realistic most of people use 16:9 TVs or simply will at some point. I don't think Tantric is very open at suggestions since he never implemented covers in the official release as promised, or removed the "update notification"...

Wiimpathy, thank you SOOOOOOOO much for the cios 202 versions. The 202 version of SNES9XGX fixed ALL of my slowdowns and lockups/freezing in the coverflow menu. This has been my first christmas present of the week so far :D

merry christmas to the wii scene! :P

I ask same question but anyone know if this version have changes worth the effort???

But if out, thanks for your work but new version only out with ios58 support but this ios not work good for all, not to mention if you use offline, you have delete in meta.xml
