@Dracari, save the cheat file with the *.chx extension with ANSI encoding in Notepad.

Dragon Quest 3 works fine for me on Snes9x Version 1.30.
I use the english translation version 1.1 from DQ Translations.

I fixed it, I think it was something to do with the rom I originally patched.
I used a new rom, patched it again and now it's all ok.

I asked about this when the translation first came out. It appears there isn't an emulator on O3DS that can play it right.

Yeah, he is content with the state his ported emulators are in. You got to move on at some point I guess.

Darn, at least it finally has Blargg's S-SMP core but still. Oh well.

Hi. I have used this and the NES emulator a few times on my modded N3DSXL and experience quite a bit of input lag, event through the frame counter reports full speed. This happens both when launching as a cia and when launching a 3ds from the homebrew launcher.

Is there any way to alleviate the input lag?

Dependson the ROM ; for example doom works like a potato but super Mario world runs on 60fps even on O3ds

Input lag is independent of frame drops. I haven't found the input lag to be noticeable though.

I don't think the 3DS would be able to handle 1.60

Why not? I dont see any emulators taking advantage using the cpu from the new 3ds consoles, so its logic to do that step further.I prefer bubble doing the project,i like their ports :3

Snes9x 1.60 struggles on Wii U, because it's a far more accurate emulator than 1.30 or 1.51. It uses Blargg's S-SMP and Byuu's S-SMP audio core, those require a lot more CPU power.

Unfortunately, for me it is noticeable to the point of affecting gameplay. It is hard to miss when running and jumping on the Super Mario games. There may be an issue with my emu setup.

I too find input lag a bit of an issue these days - but there's really no way around it when using emulators on low-powered hardware.

    Why is emulation so hard.

It's like being a native English speaker, then learning Chinese, and trying to translate Chinese on-the-fly in your head as you read a book in Chinese. Meaning you actually think in Chinese. Rather than in English.
