Ok so with the new SNES 9x Wii v3 I put all my roms on my SD card and put it in the front slot. When I select the option for it to show me my games in the folder and it sorts through all the files close to the end it crashes with a random code dump. I have 1,250 roms on my SD card and they are all extracted .smc files. Any help would be great. Thank you.

the limit is 1000 roms per directory, use subdirectories and read the manual, having too much roms in a single directory (let's say, > 100) will slowdown directory lookup a LOT

you can also zip your roms, this generally take less size on sdcard

Limited the set down to 1000 now its detected but i get a cannot find roms when I click on the game.

"Cannot find games /snes9x/roms/ -64".

Funny thing is they are in that folder. I have tried them unzipped and zipped. Just does not work. Any help is appreciated.

what do you mean by this ?

"Cannot find games /snes9x/roms/ -64".

you are probably doing stupid things
how is named the rom you are trying to load ?

Hellfromabove:

I had the same trouble: I presume your using the homebrew channel to launch it, so you have
root:apps/snes9x
containing the elf etc.

Your roms and saves need to be in
root:snes9x/roms
root:snes9x/saves

NOT in root:apps/snes9x/roms

so create these folders if you need them, and put your roms and saves in there.

Oh yea, I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I renamed my roms to simple 8.3 filenames just in case.

Hope this helps,
fmc

Ok, everything was already in the /snes9x/roms/ folder so that's fine. I renamed some roms to be coherent with the 8.3 standards. I had a file called AAAHH.SMC but still that wouldn't boot and also I made a file called ABC.SMC inside of a zip called ABC.ZIP but that wouldn't boot either. I am going crazy here because I would love to play these games on my Wii. Please someone HELP!!!!

Ok, I finally figured out the problem. Even though the emulator lets you have 1000 roms in the directory before crashing with a code dump the emulator cannot support 1000 roms being on the card at one time. You MUST have 999 or less on the card at once. Man, all I had to do was remove 1 rom. All that time wasted. Oh well, you only succeed to learn when you fail.
