so for the usb version, we put bootmii on the USB, or still put it on the sd card, with the file system on USB
bootmii files on sd card and nand on USB if you're using the usb version of boot2.bin

where can i download boot2.bin usb version, tq.

Why do we have to complie sneek for ourselves to use it? Why Isn't there a simple install method? I do not wish to frack up my wii trying to write code. *waits for possible flame-age*

1. Because for it to work it requires code that is copyrighted by Nintendo.
2. Because there are modifications that can be made to the source to change the behavior of the program.
3. Technically you do not have to compile SNEEK yourself. The modules are available in precompiled form on the SNEEK project page. To use them you need to provide the copyrighted code and use some programs to merge the modules with the copyrighted code. However this prevents you from changing the behavior of the program to suit your needs.

does the usb version have the risk of corrupting the files on the usb? (similar to how one of the SD versions could corrupt the files on the SD)
I thought you could only get file system corruption if you had the nand on sd and sd access enabled

you misunderstood something there, the normal SNEEK version which runs a NAND from SD normally doesn't corrupt anything, only if you enable the SD access for Wii applications there was a chance when Wii application tried to write to the SD that it breaks the SD.

short answer: neither versions have a risk of corrupting the FS.

right, i was actually referring to the version where SD access for wii apps is enabled (I just couldn't remember the specifics)... is there something similar for the USB version (ie. allows access to USB wii apps but also runs the risk of corrupting the HDD?) Or am I scared over nothing?

I just don't want to worry about using the new USB version and somehow corrupted all the data on my 750GB hard drive (I think I would honestly cry, lol)

Thanks for all the help... Sneek is definitely not my area of expertise, but it looks like its going to be the future of wii hacking so I got some catching up to do!

would think it's just the files contained in the nand dump file system which get corrupted not the whole drive but don't quote me on that cause I could be wrong

new guide plz if anyone has time plz thx

Thanks, I hope your right, because in a worst case scenario situation, a 0.5GB nand dump is easy to replace, but everything else on my drive... not so much

could try with a flash drive or smaller drive first to check and test

Can anybody test the USB-Version of SNEEK (or better UNEEK)? I'm asuming that it's even slower than with the SD, because initialising the Drive takes some time, and I guess that it uses USB v1.1...though I hope I'm wrong...

If SNEEK wouldn't be that slow (and cIOS would work)...I would use it...

You are guessing too much. Initialization takes pretty much nothing for a USB Stick; not drive. Also look at this files header.
