to make it short:

played smash bros jap one time (everything was in slomo)... but it worked...

now: burned smash bros us on verbatim dl - disc is not working.. three "toc toc"-sounds and "could not recognize disc"-message...

too bad - try jp again... not working anymore.. same error... even after restart...

what happened? both disc only make my wii do "toc toc toc" ... did the us-version of smash bros damaged my drive somehow?

any suggestions what i should try next to make the us smash bros working?

using a PAL wii with cyclowiz 3.6beta

thx.

Is it only the Smash bros. game discs? Try a different one. It sounds to me like your drive may be out of alignment.
yes, only smash bros .. (the only ones burned on dual layer, btw)...

the console was not moved in the last few weeks... no transport-damage possible

You need to send in your console to Nintendo for cleaning since its problem with older Wiis to ready DL.

I think its just a really really bad timing actually.

how could that happen? or is this a common problem?
and most important: what to do with it (with removing the nintendo-option)?

You could always open the Wii and clean the laser yourself

Do you smoke in your house, or is it generally dusty? A quick google turned up this:

You can buy a disc lens cleaner at your local electronics store, or wal-mart.

no smoking and almost dust-free place for the wii...

If you have a triscrew, open your wii, get something like a cottonpin and clean the laser.

Else how I will do it, if my Wii makes that "Toc Toc Toc" Noise, I will infact buy a DVD cleaner disc.

Its just a disc with some "straws" on it that runs around and whips the laser from dust.
Remeber that dust comes in everywhere, no mather what, also if its just cleaning nintendo will do (Do I hear a cleandisc maybe?) A modded wii shouldn't be a problem.

I need some information, maybe nobody has the answer yet but :
So I have a bunch of backups that worked flawlessly on my wii (pal with wiikey)
Then I did an upgrade with ssbb US, and then I had a lot of trouble.
Some of my backups don't work anymore, So it means that ssbb messed my lens up, or the origin of the problem is another ?
So I just need to clean my lens and it will run again ?

What exactly does this "Toc toc toc" sound like? Can we get a recording?

I get more of a "toc toc" sound when inserting a dual layer disc, but it plays fine.
