It's not MG supported, so I'm not sure. Some people say you NEED a MagicGate MS, other say you don't... so I'm not sure.
Possibly..some installers have methods to get around the problems associated with fakes (see UPT/UPMS)...however, with something as important as installing a new firmware why take the risk with using a shoddy piece of fake memory. Get a good Sandisk 4Gb stick and use it for both the MMS and then once done as your regular MS.
