So for the past couple of days I've been playing SMW on snes9xgx, and when I finally get to the credits and such, when it says the end, I can't get out of it. I searched around and people said to reset the game (for the actual cart). I tried restarting it in the emulator and I was back to the castle I beat before Bowser. I beat Bowser again and got stuck on the "The End" screen once again. Tried pressing all the buttons on my Gamecube + Wiimote. Can anyone determine the problem for me please?

ROM: Super Mario All-Stars+Super Mario World

Emulator: snes9xgx 1.51 (I believe)

This isnt an issue, you just cant save after the final fight.
its like in Mario 64, Donkey Kong country 1-2-3, Donkey kong 64, bla bla bla.

Isn't it like that with...well...almost all games?

Oh, and I seriously doubt that's your version of snes9x gx...Tantric based his emulator on SNES9X v1.51, but that doesn't make his one the same version. Currently, the latest version is 4.1.5.

Thanks.

But it looks like all my work was for nothing. Sigh.

huh ?
no, you completed the game, that's it: end of the story, gameover, it's the same thing... and wasn't the game worth the "work" ?
you would not have love 90's since quite all games were ending like this, no "second run" or "save your progress anywhere" options, you got quite lucky it had at least a decent ending sequence
