Ok i have a Sandisk 4gb micro sdhc card acekard 2i from gamezway today. It runs slow, especially on Pokemon Platinum and Soulsilver. However, Mario Kart ran fine. Whenever i enter a door or check my bag, my screen turns black for a long 5 seconds then goes back to normal. Also, when i move my bag, it lags REALLY bad. I tried 2 different roms of the same game and both have the same problem. I even tried formatting it twice using the SD formatter that everyone recommended. I don't know if its the microsd card or the acekard 2i. Anyone have the same problem? Help is appreciated.

i heard when u buy sdhc cards, u gotta buy a certain "class" so i guess u gotta buy a faster sdhc card, or just get an sd card. I think speed doesn't matter on sd cards, might be wrong

i think i have a class 2 because on the card there is a number 2 on the edge. I hear transcend class 6 are fast or should i stick with a class 4 if i buy a new card?

A class 4 should be fine, that's what I use and I don't have any problems.

This is very disappointing. I just got a acekard 2i and microsd card today too and im already experiencing problems. *sigh*

On the bright side, a bargain brand one should work fine

. That's what I use. Just make sure it's class 4 or 6.

For general purposes, SDHC are just higher capacity. Some say regular SD consume less power, but in real world applications I doubt you'll notice the difference.

Speed generally lies in the authenticity of your card. If it is a legit card from the manufacture, it will work fine. If it is some rip off counterfeit, it will likely have sucky performance.

If you think it is slow, try running some benchmarks and report back with stats.
I tried this one on my card. Works well enough for me.

I'll just buy a 2gb micro sd card, not a sdhc card, at the store sometime this week. I'll be satisfied with 2gb. It can fit around 15+ games

Ok im using my father 1gb Kingston microsd card and it is WAY faster then the lame 4gb Sandisk class 2 microsdhc card. How sad.

Note to everyone NEVER BUY A CLASS 2 microsdhc card!!!!!

Why - I have/had one (Sandisk) & never had any problems with it (although I now have a 8Gb class 2 Sandisk)

did you try running pokemon platinum or soulsilver on it? Mine lag when you go to the move in the bag also going in and out of buildings took a whole five secs to load. However, i liked it for the save time. My sandisk saved the game really quick. My kingston 1gb is so much faster. Everything is more smoother. The save time is a bit longer but i'll deal with it.

i regularly use a class 2 16gb sandisc and a class 6 8gb sandisc.

i notice no difference in performance while using them in my flashcarts.

but it does take quite a bit longer to transfer data on the class 2 than the class 6.

Well Class 2 only means MINIMUM read (not exactly)/write rates of 2 Mb/sec.
You may also want to try formatting followed by defragmenting the MicroSD.
That may help, or just get a Class 4 (and up) microSD's.

NEVER DEFRAGMENT A MEMORY CARD

you need to format it. but first make a backup of your files and then place them back after the format.

Completely incorrect.

1) NEVER DEFRAGMENT A MICROSD CARD
2) The Class of a MircoSD card determines its WRITE speed NOT its READ speed. Read speeds are usually pretty good for any MicroSD. The only reason you'd want a Class 4 and up MicroSD is that you'd want to copy games over faster.

I'll get a class 4 card someday. Right now i'm good with my "new" 1gb kingston microsd card i stole from my dad cellphone. I replaced my class 2 4gb sandisk micro sdhc card for it. LOL
