Hacking Sleep mode and why is it difficult

I’ve seen multiple threads about issues with sleep mode and what not. From an educational standpoint and not a complaint one. Can someone elaborate on what makes it difficult or troublesome to implement/get working? I’m genuinely curious.

No. I know it’s working but I was talking more in terms of Atmosphere and what not and the early days of Hekate. I know there are already fixes and Atmosphere won’t have an issue with it either. Just curious as to why it seemed like it was a problem to get it working correctly.
