If you're expecting awesome toys, feel free to be disappointed. They're just still statues that don't move at all, likely made out of plastic. They exist solely to appeal to little kids who think it's a neat little way to unlock different characters. IMO, it's basically just overpriced and over-glorified DLC. Instead of going online and purchasing a new character costume for a few dollars, you'll be going to the toy store and buying a few of these figures for what will most likely be $10-$20.

1st Spyro game I'm remotely attracted too since the PS1 days.
Kinda don't like the makeover though. :/
It'll definitively be kept in mind.

They are doing what Nintendo did with the 3DS launch: overpricing and squeezing out big profits....
At this price, Skylanders is gonna be sitting on store shelves collecting dust...

I never really played this series before.

Judging from the vid, it looks fun.

But the toy + game = $60 price tag? That's high

Looks alright on the 3DS but it's just plain stupid reviving the Spyro series, it had a good run but the latest games have all been shit compared to the older ones.

Reason for edit: Fixed Typo.

The gimmick is just plain silly on this one. $60 for the game and likely a single starting character is steep. It is really steep. Especially when you consider that you will have to continue to spend money to further enjoy the game. I foresee this failing horribly. That, or starting out well, then sales tanking when people realize what a huge waste of time it is, and that their figurines will eventually just be hunks of plastic with completed data inside of them that you will never use again.

I guess that's when you're supposed to shell out another $10 to get that character again in the future.

It innovative and Im willing to give it a chance. Maybe Sypro and a couple of other characters should be r built into the game itself and the game be sold separate from the starter kit for those who dont want to buy it (though I believe it would take away from the games real charm).

I really like the idea and Im hoping it goes somewhere. What i really love is that I can have one character and play that same character, stats and all, on my friends PS3 or my other friends 360 after I myself am done playing on the 3DS

That thing is a bit big, say you wanna play it on your 3ds on the go, you can't play without the portal thingy can you? But it's a good way to tackle piracy I guess,

So it's there own take on kameo with toys sales thrown in...they could of made it cheaper. They could of put a port on the toys for 2 different detachable cables. One with a usb head to connect to the toys to the usb ports of the consoles. A second cable to act like an adapter to plug the toys into the sd card slot of the 3ds.

EDIT: Or they could made each toy connect directly to the systems with their own built in usb cable. than had the 3ds scan cards for the characters. Each toy could came with a 3ds ar card to use in place of the toys.

Definitely gonna get this game but 1 problem is I keep on reading that you can unlock characters .

The question is how do unlock the characters like are they gonna give you the toys but some you can't use or do you need to buy the characters

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
