I don't care what you think. I don't care what you believe. You don't know everything. You are not god. Leave me and everyone else alone. Stop posting in my thread or I'm going to report you for harassment.

I'm really not. And it IS extremely difficult to NORMAL people. If ANY of you bothered to read any of the other posts here before commenting you'd have seen that I've been down that "trust me, bro" rout already.

This is my thread, YOU can move on and stop commenting in my thread. I asked from the get go for you people to not bring up homebrew and every OTHER f'ing post has been "do homebrew, do homebrew, do homebrew." SHUT UP! If i want to post a thread asking for non-homebrew options and leave it there till the end of f'ing time then that's my prerogative. Just because YOU don't have the answer doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Stop thinking you're god, your not. Leave me the F alone! If you don't have the answer to a problem, DON'T POST!
This is a public forum where anyone can post messages lol. This isn't anything to get so heated up about, you'll be able to play Link's Awakening DX sooner or later on whatever device or way you end up doing it. It's a wonderful game, which I've been playing as of late and I couldn't be happier.

One thing is to be passionate or moved about something, which I completely understand and even share. But getting angry or upset about people genuinely explaining the situation at hand is only being harmful for yourself. Take some time out of the PC/phone, and probably you'll be able to look at the situation with a different mindset. It happens the same to me when dealing with situations and being too hung up in the whole ordeal.

You aren't talking with random people, we genuinely love the scene and have looked into it enough to be aware of what's possible and what isn't.

I don't care how long you've been in the scene. I've seen even experts in their own field get proven wrong. But non of that matters as i have explicitly requested to not have homebrew rammed down my throat. Now this is my official statement for you to stop posting in my thread. The next post you make here will be registered as harassment and reported to the moderators.
I promise to you I'm not trying to "have homebrew rammed down [your] throat" with my response. Like already stated above, you're not talking to random people here, you're talking to many scene experts. If they're telling you something is impossible, it is impossible. If you can't accept this, I'm sorry.

I explicitly requested to not hear about homebrew and i don't understand why it is so hard for people to respect another persons wishes. I'm getting angry because people will not stop. I should have the power to say STOP and for people to respect me. That fact that their not and are dogpilling me is why I'm getting angry. If i had the power to simply delete other peoples posts in my own thread, i'd do that instead but i can't.

The fact that you won't stop posting about it despite having been asked to stop SEVERAL TIMES says otherwise. And yes, i am talking to random people here, several of which disagree with you. You're opinion is not fact, period. If you were sorry or remorseful then you'd respect my boundaries but your not. And as I've officially requested for you to stop posting here and you have refused, you have now been reported.

I understand why you don't want to install cfw, I'm not going to push that. However, people like ihaveahax are known in the 3DS scene and unfortunately, as much as you may not like it, they're right when they say it is impossible to run VC games on a 3DS flashcart. It's not a matter of 'nothing is impossible', thats just *how it is* and how the files themselves are.

Your only options really are Stargate/Sky3DS+, but they won't do what you want in playing VC games on them - they need fully untouched encrypted dumps from 3DS cartridges.

Thank you for not dogpilling me but i think the issue here now is simply that a person should have the right to have their personal boundaries respected and this level of pushing goes a little past harassment.

As i said earlier if it truly is impossible then so be it but as i've also said, no one knows everything and even experts can be proven wrong. Maybe ihaveahax is right but he doesn't know it, he only believes it and i have the right to ask OTHER people if they know something he doesn't. Technology and community are evolving all the time and that's the reason i never accept "that's the way it is" responses.

Unfortunately, with this, it is a matter of 'that's just how it is'. VC games are a different format than a 3DS rom, it's not something that can be modified into something that can boot on a Sky3DS+/Stargate. You can try to will it into existence as much as you want, but it just won't happen. It's like trying to put the square block in the circle hole. It isn't going through. Everyone is just going to tell you the same thing, even the most skilled in the scene.

And people are going to mention homebrew because they aren't wrong when they say flashcarts for the 3ds kinda died once cfw became as safe as it is. You are also on a site tailored towards homebrew and cfw, so you do need to bare that in mind and expect people to suggest it.

Here I will outline why it is impossible. This is for the benefit of anyone who comes across this thread.

The 3DS uses RSA to verify the authenticity of software. Nintendo signs software with a private key, and under normal circumstances, the 3DS will only execute software that can be verified with a public key.

Game card images (i.e. .3ds/CCI) contain signatures that are only valid to game cards. Digital software releases (i.e. CIA) contain signatures that are only valid to digital software.

Flashcarts like Sky3DS / Sky3DS+ / Stargate will emulate a game card in a way that the 3DS accepts. And if an original, unmodified game card image is presented, this game can indeed be played without any system modifications. However they cannot forge the signature, as the 3DS operating system will still verify that it's valid. Any attempts to modify the data or create custom titles will fail this signature check.

As game cards and digital software have their own signatures, any attempt to "convert" a digital game to a game card image will result in a game card with a signature that does not validate against Nintendo's public key.

Since we do not have Nintendo's top secret and confidential retail signing keys, we cannot run software on the 3DS without exploiting holes in existing software. The relevant private keys have not appeared in any leaks. Since Virtual Console titles have only been released as digital software, they cannot be converted into properly signed game card images.

The closest equivalent to a private key leakage was the PlayStation 3, however this was mainly due to Sony failing to do the math right.

Well that simply isn't true. There is no such thing as "that's just how it is" and there never will be. There will always be a way to do something, the only real limiter is how possible/plausible it is. I mean, if you wanted to push things to the extreme, someone could have created a custom flashcart that perfectly emulates the systems own hardware/software that plays VC games and there you go, the only question at that point is has it been done yet. I'm not saying this has been done but the possibility for it to exist is never 0. Do you get it now? This "absolute answer" mentality is what i have a problem with and again, as a human being i have the right to ask people to not harass me and be respected. Normal, decent human beings are brought up to respect other peoples boundaries and this site as all others regardless of public/private or theme have rules and guidlines to prevent drama, harassment and illegal activity. While i haven't looked at this sites specific rules, refuses to leave someone alone when you've been asked to is universally a punishable offense, and again i asked at the beginning of this thread for people to not bring up homebrew.

Have fun willing it into existence. It's been explained to you multiple times why it can't be done.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! It's very clear and it'll come in handy for other people that may bump into this thread in the future. I've gone thru so many old threads already, sometimes an interesting thing someone wrote a decade ago takes you where you wanted to be :P

You can misrepresent me as much as you want but not accepting an "absolute answer" doesn't mean I'm trying to "will it into existence". All that has been explained to me is why the people who don't believe it's currently possible believe it's not currently possible. Anything is theoretically possible, i mean ihaveahax already outlined a potential possibility that could work if someone has the private key, but again the main issue here is i DID NOT ASK for an explanation. Saying "it's been explained to me" doesn't make it any less opinion and not fact and it still does not change the fact that i explicitly asked people to not push homebrew down my throat and i'm going to keep "explaining this to you" until you get it. Respect other people or leave.

Just locking this thread.

OP have gotten the answer over and over again. Unless someone tomorrow creates a unique totally new flashcart, for the 3ds, where softmodding is the norm. It won't happen.

ihavehax explained it well how the 3DS works with the encryption etc.
