Hello,

I came here for some help about my sky3ds+. I decided to install the new update this morning but it didn't work. I had formatted my micro sd before. I put firmware.bin and settings.txt in the sd card. I inserted the sd card into the sky3ds+ and connected it to my pc. The first thing wich appearead was a green led for 1 sec then a red led for 2 sec then a white led for 1 sec and to finish a red flashing led. And it lasted more than 30 minutes. For an update, it seems absolutely impossible and abnormal. So i unplugged the sky3ds even it's not recommanded but i don't think it was doing anything. Then i put some roms in the sd, inserted the sky3ds into the 3ds. At this moment, a white led appears and nothing else. No game appears on my screen and pushing the buttons is useless. Is my sky3ds dead ? Can i do something or throw it in my bin ? Thanks for your answers.

I haven't updated mine yet but did you format your microsd to fat32 before you updated?

I formatted into FAT32. The red flashing led lasts since 1 hour now. I don't think it's actually updating.

Hm interesting, I was just about to update my Sky3ds+ card, too.
Think I will wait for some succesful feedbacks.

Have you done it according to the Sky3ds website?

*Firmware update:

sky3DS+ will come with the newest firmware V100(FIRMWARE_VERSION=100 in the settings.txt, you
don't need to do any update at the moment), we will keep it updated on our site if needed.

1.Download the updated firmware.bin from sky3DS.com, and copy it into the root directory of
your microSD card.

2.Insert your microSD card into sky3DS+, connect your PC and sky3DS+ with a USB cable(come
with, which can also work as a USB Adapter once connection built).

3.The LED red light will turn on for 10 seconds, then turn to the green light and keep flashing for
10 seconds, once the light turn off it means the sky3DS+ has been updated successfully. Alert:
Never unplug the USB cable while the green light keep flashing, it might damage your sky3DS+ card!

4.Delete the firmware.bin file in your microSD card.

I did the update and everything whent fine for me, only thing thats different that now the led licht always flickers like he is loading and stuff. Dont know if this is normal, never seen it before.

Did not format anything, just copy/paste the two files on the microSD, plug it into my computer (running OS X but it should not change anything because it's just to switch the Sky3DS "on".).

Led flashed and just turned off, I tried right after that on my 3DS, np, everything works so far.

Does your led light flicker al the time now like it is loading and stuff?

Could it be that you can't update with a clean microsd and it requires roms/cfg/sav files when updating?

Thanks for your answers, guys. It seems to work again. I sent an email to sky3ds team. I followed their instructions. I formatted my sd card then just put firmware.bin. When i plugged, it was different. I had red led then green led for some seconds. I put the rest of roms and settings. Now, it works and i don't need to worry anymore.

Yes it does that, quite often but not the whole time. Still, more often than before the update.
Before the update it only flashed when i changed a game.
Now it always flashes very dim and when it loads a game it flash brighter and when im playing also.
Normaly only red and green, but now i have seen a different colour also, but all the games work fine.

I only saw red, green and blue, same thing as before the update. (blue seems to be used when the system is writing on the cartridge because I noticed this color while saving on MH4U)

Ok, so it is normal then, weird that he didnt do that before the update.
Does anybody know if it has to do with the led lines in the setting file, and so that you can turn it off?

For the led blinking now it's maybe because in the new settings file they put HIGH_SPEED_ENABLED=1 before it was "0".

;)

You can set your led light status in settings.txt, see more details below:

ACTIVITY_LED_COLOR=RGB - this line is set to select the colour of the activity LED. This allows you to personalize your cartridge's notifications to your liking or disable them altogether. The syntax here is simple - XXYYZZ, XX for Red, YY for Green and ZZ for Blue, 00 for Disabled, FF for Enabled. You can mix and match colours, too! For instance, FF00FF will make the LED shine Pink, FFFFFF will make it shine White or FFFF00 will make it shine Orange.
