Well it took them two months last time to release the new firmware for the new Pokemon AP so I expect the same for this whatever it is.
And it's not like it's Gateway Soon either...

You dont need to wait. All you need to do is extract a private header and inject that in your 3ds roms.
What team sky3ds are doing is find one method to play online without private header. But i dont want to risk my console and the best solution is get a private header from any cartridge. It works well without bans.
