Thanks, my sister has that type but the NES looking one. Any particular steps or just the same steps using sysnand in tutorial? I kinda had to follow a bit different stuff for 9.9.0-26U. I wanna make sure her 3DS remains safe and do my research first.

The cia's I used before were the full 9.2 cia's but the one from the megaupload link first instead of the actual thread.

People are reporting mixed results.

Some have simply downgraded using SafeSysUpdater.

Others have first updated to 10.3 using julian SysUpdater, then downgraded with SafeSysUpdater.

Please note: IF for any reason you softbrick, you are stuck updating to latest firmware from Nintendo's servers (10.5 at the time of this writing) and there may not be a downgrade option in the foreseeable future. Proceed at your own risk.

Ahh ok. I went ahead and attempted a 9.8 -> 9.2 downgrade and it appears to have been successful. Now setting up emunand and other bits to it.

Umm....
1) Format sysnand (fresh slate)
2) Setup basic homebrew launcher using starter.zip
3) Get safesysupdater (latest version) and put that on the sd card
4) Get the 9.2.0-20U Old 3DS full package from that 3ds site and unpack it until the updates folder as instructed
... pretty much like it is normally really.

I literally did nothing special. I did have one instance where I just got a black screen but I just forced off and tried again and it was fine 2nd round.

Hi!

I successfully downgraded my O3DS from 9.4E to 9.2E using SafeSysUpdater, but since then, when I open an app (from the 3DS menu) and quit it, it will just freeze on the Home loading screen. I need to wait until it shows a message that an error occurred and then it will load the menu).

How do I fix that? Thanks!

OK what entry point can I use on 10.1? I am getting the upgrade nag on the browser and no access to cubic ninja? Can i upgrade to 10.3 to remove the nag? i am reading through 100's of threads and my brain feels a little like mush. thank you in advance fro putting up with my stupidness lol.

DO i need to remove tubehax dns to downgrade? and if i remove tubehax dns wont that upgrade my 3ds?

Now i can't access to Settings and Browser. How can i continue? If i have a copy of Ocarina of Time can i enter in HBM and retry the downgrade?

First one: O3DSXL with 10.1, did a upgrade to 10.3 then used safesysupdater to downgrade to 9.2.

Second one: O3DSXL with 10.3, did a downgrade with safesysupdater to 9.2

Third one: N3DSXL with 9.9, did a upgrade to 10.3 and then used safesysupdater to downgrade to 9.2.

All systems European models.

Am in the exact same situation, looks like we received a softbrick. People recommend updating to 10.3 with julians sysupdater and only then trying to downgrade to 9.2 with safesysupdater. I didn't realise this till now but we live and learn hey You could run the safe recovery menu and update officially if you do not want to risk bricking your 3ds by messing around more but you will end up on 10.5. Am going to attempt to get the ocarina of time hack working tomorrow to boot into the homebrew launcher and update to 10.3 with julians sysupdater. Depending on how well that goes i might risk another go at a 9.2 downgrade but will report back tomorrow and let you know how i got on
