It's been growing for quite a while.
Just this month alone I have bought 4 physical games and pre-ordered 3 more. All on cart. And the month has just started.
Omg that looks amazing, just seen it right now!
It'll be hard for those waiting for NS2 to get hacked (just to play pirated games).

Zelda Ocarina of Time NS2 Console has gone up for pre order here in England, but already sold out hopefully there will be more stock as I really want that edition.
And there's not a special edition for the game? Come on.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Definitive Edition is getting a Game-Key Card release. Fucking sucks. Age of Calamity was a great game just a bit too ambitious for the hardware it was released on. The definitive edition will fix the technical issues a well as including all the DLC.

I wanted to buy Dragon Quest Heroes 1+2 Japan Import, but turns out that's in Japanese only, no English language.
And you know if they do a Switch 2 release it'll just be a Key Card box, bummer. Can't get a physical Switch release in English. :/

The list is slowly building for sure. I don't expect it to be anywhere near the amount of game key card releases, but hopefully more proper / full physical releases pop up.

I'll update the thread post later today once I have time.
I recall US releases tend to get less or nothing at all, just look at Klonoa which yes it wasn't a Nintendo game, but it got a physical release in Europe and Asia.
