Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

I was in the same boat but I managed to downgrade my N3DSXL without formatting. Took 5-7 tries with first browserhax then menuhax before it worked. Still got my NNID, digital games and saves. I haven't got to CFW yet, just wanted to downgrade in case Nintendo decides to fix the exploit.

Did you try the Mii Plaza games and all that? Does everything still work fine? Also, does your friend list still work?

After 400+ tries on my O3DS I have come to the conclusion that everyone in here is playing a joke on me. :l Then I tried it on my friends 2DS and it worked first try.

Were you getting the "An error has occured" message on reboot? Because I have a similar situation. Endless softbricks on my 3ds, worked first try on my brother's.

not sure how to change my vote in the pole. i originally voted "no" after hard bricking another animal crossing n3ds by downgrading to o3ds 9.2 instead of n3ds 9.2

So far, I have 7 downgraded units, 0 soft bricks, 0 hard bricks.

Summary of each unit downgraded to 9.2U with MenuHax as the entrypoint:

1. Unit: Aqua blue o3DS
Original FW: 9.9U
Problems encountered: Black screen after downgrading.
Fix: Removal of SD card.

2. Unit: Black o3DS
Original FW: 8.1U (with dummy browser) then upgraded to 10.3U.
Problems encountered: None
Fix: N/A

3. Unit: Black o3DS XL
Original FW: 9.7U
Problems encountered: Black screen after downgrading.
Fix: Removal of SD card.

4. Unit: Pikachu o3DS XL
Original FW: 10.3U
Problems encountered: None.
Fix: N/A

5. Unit: Blue o3DS XL
Original FW: 10.1U then upgraded to 10.3U due to update message on the browser.
Problems encountered: None.
Fix: N/A

6. Unit: Red o3DS XL
Original FW: 9.6U
Problems encountered: Black screen after downgrading.
Fix: Removal of SD card.

7. Unit: Blue o3DS XL
Original FW: 10.3U
Problems encountered: Crashed at "Rebooting in 10 seconds" message.
Fix: Forced shut down after 5 minutes of waiting? Then encountered black screens upon boot up which is fixed by removing the SD card.

No plans to downgrade my n3DS XL though.

Hey there!, I've got a question, after everything has been installed(every single cia), sysupdater says taht it will reboot in 10 seconds, although it has been more than 5 minutes and it hasn't rebooted by itself, what should I do?
(I'm on a europan o3ds that was on 10.3...and yes, I checked everything twice(md5 and so on) and I copyied everything with Teracopy).

Try to reboot manually I had the same problem and it worked for me. and good luck hopefully it all worked well. Apparantly I was one of the lucky ones.

Isn't a soft brick when you can still get into the recovery mode? As I said, no recovery mode. I can make the power light come on, that is all.

Did you use Menuhax? Remove your SD card and change your theme.

But still nothing.

This error comes and comes..
I have no idea
