Got to the menu where I can choose to downgrade. I hit 'Y' and it sits at the same screen not doing anything at all. Is this normal or should there be something happening on the screen?

Give it 5 minutes and if it does nothing, reboot it. My N3DS did the same about 5 minutes ago

A good short tutorial, with all the download information provided in the description.

I used the files and I can confirm it works for old3ds v9.9.0-26E to v9.2.0-20E

However... there is one weird thing. I was using menuhax... and it didn't show an error screen. Did I do something wrong?

For all the menuhax installers.

After you downgrade. You must do everything again.

So browserhax again and then menuhax for v9.2.
Format your SD card and start downloading the appropriate files.

Yes it was the same thing in my case
@TheStoneBanana I don't know how common this issue is but in my case I got a black screen on startup because the themehax installation only worked for 1.1.0

The first time I got an error telling me to restart the system. I did, it showed 9.2.(I don't believe you filthy system)
Also formatted like 2 times in between.
I re downgraded and the second time it went all the way to NATIVE FIRM.
YISSSSSSSS.

I'll upload screen of 9.2 tomorrow.

Backup your SD card into your PC & then format the SD card.

And then yes, re-download and re-install from the starter pack.

Julians downgrader stopped loading stuff after a few tries for me, should I use someone elses now?

I am stuck at "Updates installed. Rebooting in 10 seconds..." What do I do? I have already downgraded 2 other ds's fine but did not encounter this.

I began the process, saw four CIAs correctly installing and had to get the phone. When I came back the screen was black (but on), left at it for some minutes, and then looked it up and saw some people saying that they had to force reboot, tried that, but nothing happens....brick???

I don't think you have. I was on 9.9E, and the only crash that's supposed to happen is if you leave the kernel-enabled app.
I'm on rxTools nightly right now, however it's very unstable to use (crashes sometimes).
