So what do all our 3ds' have that others dont which stops them from downgrading..?
What I meant was that there are a lot of cia's and you would typically get them in an archive [i.e. zip, rar, 7zip files etc]. A lot of archival program will let you open it and delete a file from it directly. Alternatively you could extract them to the 'updates' folder on your 3DS and then delete it, doesn't really matter as what point you do it.

I have an o3ds, with Sandisk ultra 32GB something or other, dont wanna take it out.
I tried with the original 3ds sd formatted it.
And a original sandisk micro sd card with a adapter
