I'm in the same boat as pofer. Tried multiple entry points as well as redownloading the update files, I get a soft-brick every single time.

MenuHax is the one who has a bigger success rate, I couldn't use Ironhax for this. MenuHax on the other han worked flawlessly.

you sure? i'm kinda afraid now seeing those post about people getting erros in the middle of the downgrade and bricking their 3DS without being able to use recovery mode, is there any guarantee i can avoid that?

perhaps there is a chance that softbricks are related to the SD Card? ... just saying

well they need a failsafe method so if it checks the files for errors etc before it starts downgradeing

I can't give you an answer but you can try finding a way t see hidden files on windows? Maybe is the same problem as mac and the sysupdate recognize other files than the real ones
I finally FINALLY after like 9 hours GOT it to install the cias.. Good God. I'm glad I'm as patient as I am.

I just downloaded the files for the third time, but this time with Microsoft edge instead of Chrome.

Sadly there is no method that has a 100% success rate, so there's not a guarantee that your 3ds won't brick. my experience with IronHax was a failure, but menuhax worked in the first try (after some minor problems with my Mac). But you can try but I'm not responsible if you end up with a brick tho.

SUCCESS First try too, and no black screen on reboot with my SD card inserted. I'm feeling lucky.

Now to exploit this bad boy :3

and there is the chance that you get "Error please reboot" while downgrading permanently fuck*ng up your system ( not even recovery works )

i'm glad it hasn't happened to me, but some other unlucky folk here have

i guess i'll wait for a more stable build to be released, i don't want to keep playing this gauntlet of getting my 3DS bricked because some random error can show up while downgrading.

i advise you to do the same

So once bricked theirs nothing you can do right? Want to make sure before i toss it away.

enter Recovery Mode by pressing A + R + L + Up (D-Pad) while starting

if it doesn't work, MAKE SURE your R and L buttons are working, they get kinda messy over time and you may have to blow these so it starts working again

make sure you hold the buttons BEFORE pressing the power button, I though at first that you had to press all the buttons asa the console turned on, so I cried a bit thinking I had a new brick hahaha

Im sure recovery does not work anymore, It was about an hour ago when i tried before it bricked.

I'm getting an error:

titleException:
main.cpp:108: Result: 0xD900182F
Failed to get CIA file info!

I had this problem before when I downgraded my o3ds earlier this year, and it was related to Mac's ._ files. I'm using Windows with hidden files visible now and not seeing anything wrong. Is this maybe a different error code from before?

Recovery mode doesn't expire, give it a couple tries. If it still doesn't work you may still be able to donate it to a hard modder or sell it for a couple bucks to someone else who may be able to fix it. Be sure you tell them how it was broken of course.

whats chance of brickign 3ds with this

if you get error while downgrading then you fuck*d up and you can forget about any kind of hope

if the downgrading was succesfull but you got bricked, you can enter Recovery Mode to update 3DS and fix the problem

i personally will wait for a more stable build, you should do so too
