If your homescreen shows up after removing your sd card (assuming you have a black screen when it's inserted) you need to delete 000002cc/d/e (depending on your region) in your sd card's extdata in the Nintendo 3DS folder

Now, my 3ds is....

Yeah me and it seems like a few others have all been bricked without the ability to go into recovery mode or anything else. I was
on an o3DS too.

Try another method to get to the homebrew menu.

Help? I just downloaded another File (not Pingo´s) but both have 130 CIA´s in it. It´s 9.2 E, can anybody confirm it worked with that?

I just had this exact problem and smacked myself in the head for not realizing what it was instantly. OSX writes extra data about files in a "._" version of that file, which is generally hidden on any *nix OS.

So if you look at your updates folder you'll see 123456789.cia. What you won't see is the ._123456789.cia that is created along side it. Sysupdater tries to update using that file and luckily fails before anything goes horribly wrong.

One can fix this by doing all of this in windows as Icarus did, or cleaning out the 'dot files' by running "dot_clean *path to sd card*" in terminal then ejecting immediately after.

This should fix the problem, I'm downgrading now

I downloaded the 9.2 EUR package from the iso site then when my ds successfully downgraded, it shows 9.0 EUR in system settings... Has this happened to anyone else?

Please put this in the OP. I downgraded my JPN N3DS successfully and this was a crucial step that absolutely could not be skipped without bricking the device.

Mind pming me where you got your files? I am on 9.9.0-26j N3DS

i tried this with a friend hers worked beautifully, she was on 10.3 fw, and me on 9.8 our 3ds are the ogXL .

my issue is the black screen after finishing the downgrade process ( i used the 9.2 full pack ) what do i do after i boot into Recovery Menu? it tells me connect to internet and update? :/ should i update to 10.3 and retry the downgrade i guess?

I've downgrade the 3ds xl of my brother and my 3ds doesn't downgrade. I've homemenuhax installed, does the hax infludes?

Can someone help me? I have all of the files and such correct. I tried to launch it through IronHax and I got to the prompt wherein I could press "y" to enable the downgrade. Well, it sat and did nothing so I rebooted it. When the 3DS rebooted, all of my downloaded games are gone including ironhax.

I'm on 9.9.0-*U and I'm using an O3DSXL.
