OK while trying to change the shell for the 3 in 1, I needed to remove a battery from it. Is the battery just for the rumble, or did I make a huge mistake because it powers the ezflash? Thank you!!

By remove do you mean you took it out for good? Or you took it out and will eventually put it back on?

The battery is needed to save gba saves.

Well you can just slide it back in there. If you've ripped off the contacts, you'll have to solder them back on or you won't be able to save. (well you will be able to save, but your save will be erased as soon as you power off the DS, which means the save can never be backed up to your Slot-1-card.)

There are 2 other threads just like this.

Solder them back on. Why were you removing the battery anyway? Anyway the battery doesn't power the EZflash it only retains savegames, but yeah I think it also memorizes if the cart is set to GBA or rumble mode and the rumble's strength so it MIGHT be possible that runble won't work in the future. However, RAM expansion will still work and even GBA games just that they won't save. Resolder them and be careful not to use too much flux and solder 2 contacts together or crap.
