The Silent hill series was long held up as an example of survival horror done right although that reputation has taken something of a pounding in light of recent entries. Czech Republic developer Vatra games who did the well liked XBLA title Rush'n Attack: Ex-Patriot although they do have several ex members of 2K Czech who did the hidden and dangerous and mafia franchises among others.

Synopsis

Once the twisted carnage of your prison transport bus comes to a stop, you are able to assess the situation. You find yourself stranded in the foggy woods near the town of Silent Hill. Knowing that this may be his one shot at freedom, Murphy sets off to explore the desolate town.
