umm, afaik the bootrom protects itself after it did its thing, by turning the pins its connected to off. so no software can bypass this afaik,
the only way to dump the bootrom is derreks vector-glitch-hack which hedge and greg are using

Whatever... We should just stick to what the thread title says (in other words, all I mean is we should keep the topic to SigHax only; we can talk of Boot9 once there is a big update). Anyway, I don't pretty much care about SigHax untill we have completely dumped the Boot ROMs intact.

Lol, I think you misunderstood my post. I was being sarcastic about all this discussion about Prot9 (Wohoooo! hehe). I agree, who cares about Prot9.

yeah, its also kinda lovely that he actually named it. I guess no other 2DS had so much "Pain" (pain = bootrom errors) like greg had so far

It's not rumors.. you misunderstood, I never said Boot9, I said Prot9. What we're trying to dump is the UNPROTECTED part of the bootrom, we can get the protected part dumped.

Wrong, you can just dump the unprotected part with GodMode9. We need the protected part of the bootrom to be dumped now, that has all the interesting things.

Now that's something that I've been confused about all the time. Prot9 or whatever that the heck that is, is just shit. We need the entire Boot ROM for interesting things! I completely agree on that.

No, Prot9 is what we need. Prot9 is just the part of the BootROM that you cannot access right after boot. Unprot9 is child's play to dump.

You need to write a bootrom dumper to ram, then cause a very early exception and hope it works. It is very unstable. That's why it is taking @hedgeberg and greg to dump it.

1. Depends entirely on your FW version (as your system will need to be downgraded to install A9LH first).
2. In order to install Sighax - you need A9LH, so if you can't get that - no sighax (after installing it, you don't need A9LH anymore).
3. CFW will never be blocked, only the methods we use to downgrade to install it.

Only if you have a9lh/hardmod prior to installing sighax.

Not forever. But at least until another set of arm11/arm9 exploits are found if you were to get cfw the way its been done until now.
