well to be correct sighax is a "backup plan" in case Nintendo finds a way to break A9LH which i heard is possiable where sighax cannot be imagine if they can detect exploited bootroms and start banning you on that similar to 360/PS3

It would be impossible to detect, the spoofed keys are locked away like the real keys on boot as soon as they are done with so the only trace left would be gone. Of course other things like homebrew titles and signature patches would be easily detected same for fake tickets. They could easily ban all pirates immediately from 3ds if they wanted to, simply check your tickets when you go online for an invalid signature, find more than 5 for margin of error and boom put them on the blacklist for all online services. Guess they just like to surprise like with freeshop, completely unexpected and really late in the game

Great....So now a9lh is going to be the new menuhax/rxtools once this becomes a thing and we will have sighaxmasterrace.

They'll be pretty much equivalent. And once a working sighax is released to the public, switching will be trivial.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
