Ok so my ds is jack old, 5+ years now? Its older than hell and the battery is suckish now. I am lucky if it gets 3 hours if I use wifi once for only 10 minutes. So I was going to get a DSI. Not the XL, I aint blind. Should I wait for 3DS? Will all the games after it be in 3d you think? Will it be able to play regular ds games? Things no one probably knows yet I'm sure.

Don't base your decision off of what it might have. Wait until more info is revealed and then decide if it has what you want. If not then just by a dsi.

Here's the deal, from my perspective:

First and foremost, you can always get another battery for your DS. Check out dealextreme.com if you dont' believe, or, hell, eBay. I'm impressed you kept with just the original incarnation of the DS, and actually encourage you to ride that horse until it dies.
Secondly, keep in mind that the 3DS will not be available until 2011, and even then, only in Japan at first. At the time, we have no real idea of backwards compatibility, availability, or even what the thing could look like. All the hard work that's being done on the homebrew scene (both for DS and DSi) may need to start from square one after this sucker drops. I'd even go so far as to say that, if you're running a flash card now, you will be up a creek if you make such a drastic jump in systems.
Thirdly (and lastly) you may be dreadfully unsatisfied when the 3DS arrives. I'm certainly not holding my breath for world revolution: look at the horor that 3D tv is unveiling. The only good thing that's come out of that abominable move is that I can buy a new HD tv this summer for cheap. While you wait and see if the messiah is coming in a new 3DS package, the DSi is getting cheaper and cheaper, and the DS Lite is nothing.

My vote? Get the DSi. Get it now, enjoy the hell out of it, and wait and see what Nintendo does with 3DS 2.0. After this wild success ride, I feel that Nintendo has turned into Apple, and we can expect another incarnation of the 3DS within a year of it's initial release.

Since it might get released in October you might as well wait for it.
It has 3D without glasses.
It's your wish whether you want it or not.
It will be backward compaitable but the games that run on the 3DS will not run on the DSL or DSi.

I'd say 3DS, I got my DSi at launch after having a DS Phat and, for what it is, I'd just say wait. I'm getting a 3DS at launch, join the club!

You'd be best off waiting. The 3DS should be backwards compatible with DS games and there's no doubt there will be plenty of solid games for the new system including 1st party games which are usually the best. Nintendo won't disappoint.

its prob best to wait

you wouldnt want a system that becomes obsolete with a few months, would you?

This. Only a couple more months till E3 anyway.

Definitely wait till at least E3. Although from what we know so far, it can do everything DS and DSi could do plus it's a brand new system with its own game lineup. Other than that, anything is possible. But just based on the fact that it's a new system AND it is back compatible with all old DS/DSi games (from the press release anyways), logic would probably dictate that you would want it. We'll see though. I would assume price and such would be a factor in your decision, and we don't know that yet.

If it's anything above £150 then it's going to heavily impact on sales. You can get 360's for £120 and Wii's for £170/£160. We all know what happened to the PSPgo, and I'm sure Nintendo won't want that.

Well I'd ride the wave for now and just replace the battery either third party knockoff or store.nintendo.com for a real one.

The 3DS will run all DS titles so I think it would make most sense for your money to just wait and get that for around say $200(logical guess) than drop 80% of that on a DSI just to replace it anyways when the newbie system hits.

They'll be showing it off at E3 this year hardcore and games have been in development for a bit. Nintendo isn't the company of old and they now release the US and JP systems at nearly the same date now so I would call it super likely to see this as a mid/late November 2010 release to rake in that Christmas cash.

Either you buy the DSi or skip it for 3DS. I will skip the XL just to buy the 3DS. It looks promising plus it's a brand new handheld. I love to go with technology unless you cherish Nintendo that much and buy all of their consoles.

Wait at least another month until E3. The E3 press conference from Nintendo will last for 2 hours, I'm sure there's a lot about the 3DS in there.

I dont have both DSi's
so I'm hoping for a 3DS.
