I am on 3.0.1 and with the recent developments in the scene idk if I should update... I mean, wont atmosphere support the latest version? what is still left on 3.0.1 that cant be done on 5.x? backup loading, homebrew and cfw seem to work on 5.x, am I missing something?

People on <=4.1.0 will get coldboot hack. Basically, you can run Atmosphère without using a Jig, paper clip, etc. every time you turn your Switch on. Useful if you’re on-the-go and don’t have your jig or a shorting implement. if you want to update, that’s your choice. I would recommend not updating, Atmosphère will be coming within a week, and you’ll be able to make an EmuNAND with the latest firmware. So, I’d advise not to - you’ll only have to wait a few days to be able to use the latest firmware. Mind you, make sure to get a 64GB or 128GB microSD Card or you won’t be able to use EmuNAND!

It depends what you want to do. If you want to run backups with homebrew support. Purchase SX OS and update to any firmware you want. ( Newest works also on SX OS ). You can also get SX OS for free and use homebrew for free without a purchaser license .

But you can also use atmosphere and so on if you want .Tons of threads listing what firmwares do what .I'm using SX OS on the newest firmware. Everything is awesome my friend. Your life, your choice .make due what you will

Who could tell for sure if the 3.0.X people will have cold boot? I am sick of this 10 different answers every time this question comes up. Is someone working on cold boot for earlier firmware? Who can we ask? I am also on 3.0.1 and I am feeling a little like a redheaded step child right now especially since sleep mode is not fixed for this firmware on current exploits.
