Hey GBAtemp.
So, obviously UK 3DSes are sold here.
I bought one, but I'm not satisfied for many reasons.

1) If you check my Club Nintendo PIN exchange thread, you'll know that my Club Nintendo account is AMERICAN and all my Nintendo products are AMERICAN.
2) I'm really really not used to the British spelling of words like "practising", "travelling", etc. (That's not really a valid reason I know
tongue.gif
, but it does bother me in a way)
3) I can't order games from amazon.com (the American one) because they don't sell UK games, and Amazon UK's prices are higher and have high shipping costs.
4) The reason I need games from amazon and not my local video game store is because here, the price of 3DS games is so damn high, it's like $55

5) The number of titles that are released in the US but not in the UK on the DS is killing me. I don't want that on my 3DS.

So what I've been thinking is that, since 3DSes and their games are so expensive here, I'll sell my 3DS and games for the price of a NEW one in America (which is extremely cheap here), meaning I'll be able to afford exactly an American 3DS and 2 games, maybe even with a little profit too! (I'm telling you, wayyy overpriced here)

And.. I don't mind having my save files deleted since Street Fighter isn't really amazing and Nintendogs sucks as usual..

So.. what do you guys think? Should I go for it? If no, why not?
Thx.

Might as well go for it. Sounds like an incredibly good deal if it will really all work out that well.

Sure, but because of spelling isn't a really valid reason but the lack of games is.
If you have the ability to sell it and can get the version you won't then go for it.
It's gay, Australian 3DSs cost around $350 AUD which is like onehundred more then the us and if you get with a game it costs fourhundred which is super gay.

How in the holy name of hell is buying overpriced systems GAY? What sense does that make? Don't you mean "rip off" or "bullshit" I don't think gay is synonymous...

I was trying to say that but I was trying not not be so direct.

Butyeah, ihackedit, you shouldn't use terms like that when it's not used correctly. Especially on a forum board like this where people are not supposed to be like that.

He's 13 years old. It's a common phrase in Australia.

Or at least where I'm from.

so, let me get that straight. you think, that:

an us-3DS new
2 us games
a new uk power cable
and two times shipping costs (power cable from uk & and DS+games from us)

is together less, then your used one and two used games?
i doubt it, but u should know....

and for games, you could always buy at web-shops like thehut (which even i do, though i'am from germany). shops like zavvi/thehut are fairly cheap. especially if your buying one to two months old games. there are usually pretty nice offers.

well go for it. i wouldnt though. and u can bet, that a few gems (like on regular DS) get released in europe and not in the states.

at least, i pray everyday i caome here, that a flashcard/software based hack comes along, cause i'm usually broke and there are many awesome games coming, i cant afford

Why would a american buy a UK 3ds, that is higly strange bc we always get latest releases last, you should have known that, also you should have known that in the UK we get ripped off with everything so I find it increasingly strange that a American would buy a UK 3ds.

Yes of course sell it, sell it to some import shop (normal gaming shops don't take in imports) they should give you a decent price for it and then buy a American 3ds with the profit you have made, problem solved?

Thanks guys, I'm going for it.

I just posted the ad online, and I hope I get phone calls soon
biggrin.gif

Also, I'm switching from Cosmo Black to the blue one.
And Beenii, Amazon has free shipping, and I am selling it to someone in the city, so no need to pay for shipping. Also I have my DSi power cable.
I've done all the calculations; I'll be gaining $30 from the trade
biggrin.gif

Yay for a new 3DS game xD

I'm not offended.
I use words like gay and fag all day everyday (maybe because I'm British)

Edit: Also the Australian person with the 3DS. Check if importing from England is cheaper than buying from stores around where you live.

This is a BIT off-topic: Someone interested in buying my 3DS will pay me $400! But I have no idea what he said... any help translating?

It means, "Hi, I'm trying to scam you poorly!"

That's the direct translation. Lots of filler words in there.

It's a common phrase in Australia but if you guys say it's not appropriate then I'll stop.

True... besides, I'm sure he can find a brand new unused package for less than $400, so that also proves he's scamming.

Ah well, time to find another customer.

Yeah I had kinda of the same reply once when I posted my 3ds on my local Craigslist. Guy was in arlington va (im in ny) and he wanted it shipped to Africa and was gonna pay an outrageous amount so I went along with him to have some fun including giving him a very obvious fake paypal address. I was bored what can i say.
