hey folks, I skipped the last gen console and played most of the last gen games either from psp or NDS releases. in 2013 I bought a new gaming laptop that could handle most of multiplatfform last gen games. my question: is a PS3 still worth it? back then I hold my purchase because my favorite game (persona 5) has not been released, and it will be released in ps4 anyway, so I couldn't care to buy a PS3
the only game that made me want to buy a PS3 was FF XIII (which turned out to be a crap after I played it firsthand on PC), now I feel there are no more reasons for me to buy a ps3 except their console exclusives such as infamous and ni no kuni.
However, are ps3 exclusives a 'must play'?
I am traditionally a sony console owner, so I'm kinda compulsive to buy all the sony consoles, but if most of the best games are available in PC, I probably will wait until the price becomes very cheap (I also want to buy a Wii... to play gamecube games!)
let me know what you think.![]()

Thanks for your advices julialy, really appreciate them. If someone else would want to share some wisdom with me on this matter or give some tips, then jump in.
An alternative to Step 3 is get the homebrew "Control Fan Utility" that regulates CPU/RSX temperature by adjusting fan speed. This usually keeps my temps under 60 degrees Celsius.
I use Payload for auto regulation and Max when I'm on verge of 60-70 C (when I forget to run the homebrew after a few hours)

These days you can get a PS3 for around $100, that kind of money would give you only an insignificant PC upgrade wheras on last gen consoles it lets you play a vast library of exclusives.i'd personally say no and just upgrade your pc but that's just me

hey folks, thanks for the reply. I already bought a ps3 for 110.
these are the games that I have bought:
the last of us (for 13 bucks, yay!)
infamous
infamous 2
resonance of fate
uncharted 2
uncharted 3
enchanted arms
still hunting for more games though. I have heard good reviews about red read redemption, but since I don't really like open world/gta clones, I'm not too sure whether I will enjoy it (I have bought gta iv and saints rows 3, but barely played them. tried watch dogs, and didn't really like it either. la noire is the only game that interested me)

You have to use a homebrew PC application called Bruteforce Save Data to add cheats onto a specific save.hey guys, a question, do I need to downgrade my ps3 so I can cheat/hack my save file? honestly I have no more time to finish a game that demands grinding or hundred hours. I just want to finish and play the next game.

I have no idea if you need to hack the PS3 for your modified save to work. It absolutely works on CFW but not exactly sure on OFW.ok, do I need to jailbreak my ps3? I don't want to jailbreak it yet, it looks so complicated.
EDIT:
also, do game from different regions have different address for the cheat?

hey guys, finally I'm able to play with my ps3 after installing OFW 4.70. some noobs question here, can install ps3 games to my hard drive so I will have shorter loading time (and protecting the lens)?
also, is 4.70 firmware jailbreakable?

holy moley. it looks so intimidating. ummm I think I will hold off the jailbreaking for a while since I just want to toy with ps2 and ps1 emulators. O_O;
