The PSP has no battery has it will leave you with ONLY 4 hours of use while the DS Lite can have atleast 10 hours depending of it was charged over 500 times.

I know tha the DS Lite can have 19 hours but with mine, it only lasted 10 hours because of the battery and a R4 with it. so I need a new battery from Nintendo Online.

It's a Slim, so it should be more like 5 or 6 hours as long as he doesn't need to have the backlight on level 4 (Because you really don't need to have the backlight that high).

But seriously, who plays a portable for 4 hours at a time anyway? If you were going to, chances are you're near a charging socket, so really battery life doesn't really play in.

Although he's already made up his mind, I can't believe it took 3 pages.

The PSP is amazing for homebrew and emulators. Near perfect emulation of everything up to the PS1, and also including GBA.

Agreed... I love the emulation of the GBA which is so much faster than flashing the GBA games to the NOR of my EZ-Flash.

Battery life counter as it also let's you decided on how many charges you will use on the unit. I like the PSP but I'll settle with the PSP Go if it has a nice battery life.
The PSP is nice but I need to recharge it every 4 (5-6) hours or everyday. How about on a trip? Or get into a line for a grocery/concert/convention? Will the PSP satisfy your needs when you are bored?

I dont know what the original poster decided and I should respect it. I also have a PSP2006 but it was my brother who owns it and I havent tested the battery life but I know the battery life of a general PSP. Dont flame me as this is my opinion

Flaming? When was I flaming? I was merely pointing out that battery life doesn't really play into it, because most of the time you wouldn't be playing it for 4 hours straight, I don't even play mine for 4 hours a day, I charge my PSP about once a week (Same with my DS). In line for groceries? For 4 hours? Maybe in line for a concert or a con for an hour or so, but honestly if I was waiting in a queue I doubt I'd just pull out my PSP. On a trip? Car charger, or spare battery. Most trains have electrical outputs too for charging things like PDAs and Laptops.

Not to mention with CFW you can underclock the CPU for games that don't need to run at 222MHz in order to save some battery (If you use CWCheat you can set to CPU speed to -1 ingame and it will just clock the CPU depending on how much the game wants).

Yes, the DS does have a better battery life than the PSP, but it isn't a key factor when deciding which console to purchase since most of the time it isn't even a big deal. I mean if the PSP had something ridiculous like 2 hours of battery life, then it wouldn't be worth buying at all, but it doesn't.

I have betrayed my ds :|

Sorry but I would go with PSP custom firmware...

PS1 GAMES?!?!!?
not to mention better compatibility because of higher graphics.

also you could play NES, SNES, GENISIS, DREAMCAST(possibly idk) MAME.

Things the DS will probably need a little bit more time to make.

Although if they were w/o their home brew, DS for sure.

I admit the DS has a lotta better games. But when I get bored i go straight to my psp, because there is way more you can do with it.
Ds=games
Psp=apps/homebrew/emus(all the oldschool!)

I have both

PSP - CFW 5.00 m33-6
DSL - M3 Real Perfect Bundle = Sakura Firmware

In my opinion i would definitely go with the DSL much more games and much more decent games unlike the psp which only has around 10 really good games

LOL, if u count the DS shelf ware, and the question is are 10 real good game better the the good games on the DS.
Grand trasmo , KH on the psp some FF7(the to games) the great ps1 game u can play on it (Resident evil 1-3)

I only have a DSi + a lite, games are not the best reason to pick the lite as both console has the advantage.

the bigger screen on the psp = better videos, but the Ds has a clam shell shape , sp if u are a butter finger you wont break the screen.
