So I found this cheap 40GB PS3 (FAT) at my local game store for 190$, but I heard that 40GB PS3's has some problems (freezing, slow performance, something about yellow light, etc...) is that true?

I'm not gonna be playing online, watching movies or downloading games, etc... I'm just gonna be playing games and that's it. There's a few PS3 exclusives that I really wanna play like MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, and Uncharted.

So what do you guys think? Should I go ahead a buy it?

I've got a 40GB PS3 a good... 3 or 4 years ago.

I experience very little freezing. I can count on on hand the amount of times it's frozen since I've gotten it.

Though, I upgraded to a 80GB harddrive since I've got Playstation plus and keep getting games. Though, even now I may need to upgrade once more!

But yeah. My PS3's been working fine and dandy.

I think the size of the hard drive shouldn't matter to you. You can very easily replace the 40GB hard drive with a larger one. So I would day that you shouldn't worry about the size of the HD. However, I don't know anything about them having problems... u may want to research that some more. I would recommend u actually test out the console in the store before purchasing it, if its slow or freezes hopefully u will spot it before buying it.
