As the title says.... I would like to know some good shooters for the DS

I'm mainly looking for side scrollers that are any good but FPS will also work

P.S. GBA or GBÂ game suggestions will also be helpful

I was hoping you were looking for scrolling shooters...so much better than those silly shooters that the kids nowadays play

There are a few good FPS's on DS:
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Moon
and Call of Duty(all three)

Also see Dementium 1 and 2. They're actually horror, but quite good nontheless.

For scrollers I'd go with Contra 4, Metal Slug 7, and of course Bangai-O Spirits.

You posted right after I put it in!
Glad to see someone else here likes Bangai-O.

EDIT: For GBA/GBC you can play Metroid and Contra. Pretty good shooters those.

DS:
Can't say there are many good ones, maybe Metal Slug or Contra (though i've never bothered with them). IMO most FPS other than Metroid and possibly Dementium 1 & 2 were just rubbish.

GBA:
>Gunstar super heroes
>Astro Boy
>Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission
All were great games.

ah... i loved the metroid games

fusion was my favorite though
is astro boy any good? if not im gonna check it out anyway

if there are any shooter/exploration ones like mtroid PLEASE tell me i love those games

Yeah Astroboy was awesome and difficult.

If you want games similar to Metroid, Castlevania is the obvious choice (not shooter though lol). There aren't a lot of others like it unfortunately.

Metroid set the bar so high so early on for FPS shooters i dont think anything has come close to being as fun as that game is on wifi other than a few hit n miss call of duty games

how about point blank? tap on the screen to shoot... LOL

We do have homebrew as well and much of it is far better than the commercial stuff in this genre.

http://www.foxysofts.com/ has a whole bunch
There was a great one called world reborn that was supposed to be a commercial game but ended up being released as a homebrew after the publishers did not come through or something. The site it was released to is now gone but you should be able to find it with a bit of searching (mirrors are few and far between seen as the developers released it themselves).

For DS, don't forget the Nanostray games. There were two. They're like Gradius or R-Type.....

There is also one coming soon called Astro Invaders......I see it listed as dumped, but no one has it yet.

There are Konami, Namco and Atari compilations with various shooters for DS.

Retro Game Challenge has some shooters.

Geometry Wars is pretty good.

Check out the Tyrian Homebrew: http://vespenegas.com/tyrian.html

There is the Warhawk homebrew: http://www.qj.net/qjnet/nintendo-ds/ds-hom...-ds-remake.html

Just thought I'd mention some DS games not already posted.

If you'd like to try something off the beaten path, i would recommend Big Bang Mini. Very fun!

If You do have some flashcart, i suggest NeoGeo emulator. Lot of great shooting games, including Metal Slug series, or Shock Troopers.
