Acclaimed... maybe not, anyone with some knowledge can do it, and you have to find a good japanese translator too ^^

Just a little update so people know the project is still alive and well - we now have 3 translators helping out and I've been working on some of the more simple lines of Japanese too. If anyone here has played SF Feather on an emulator and has save files available it would be really helpful if you could send me them. I played it on my DS and now I'm trying to make videos of the various cutscenes so the translators can watch them for a bit of context to the script. This will mean me having to quickly play through the game again, or using existing save files to get through it more quickly!

I just want to commend everyone working on this translation. It is definitely my most anticipated project, and I wish you guys the best of luck. I wish I could help in some way, but unfortunately I know nothing of Hex Editing or Japanese. I'm planning on learning both though if anyone has any good resources!

Keep up the great work!

It's just Tales of Innocence / Tales of Hearts / Shining Force Feather.
the code belongs to Kingcom, and Kajitani-Eizan (Tales of Hearts) and myself are just using it.

Oh, so it's the same system that was used on Tales of Innocence, it's quite a good idea and looks really nice. I don't know if the game has any FMV's inside, but will you use that system for all the videos?

I suppose they'd have to if any possible FMVs in the game were voiced!

Yes there is actually, Simpelicity noted them down for me while doing its Let's Play

And yeah, the system will be used in every FMV, that's one of the reason I wanted to have something like that, besides, it's freakin awesome.

Not sure I'll add the Romaji though, I think just the translation would be enough for those FMV. Opinion ?

I like it how it is. It's great that you're doing some awesome things with this game. Good luck on the project and thanks to everyone involved for their time and effort.

Unless it's a song, I don't really see the need for that. In songs it's nice to have the romanji since it's easier to sing a long and stuff like that, but for a normal talks and stuff there's no need. Although, if there was an FMV that started with a conversation and then a song (well, some games have FMV's where one of the characters starts singing or something), then it would look nice with the romanji as well..

Meh, sorry if the post seems confusing, I'm tired. xP

Yeah, even tired, Skelletonike put it perfectly, it's only really songs that need romanji.

Looking back has it really been nearly a year since this was announced, it doesn't feel like it wow. I just want to thank the team for their continued time and effort going into this. I still remember the, dark, days when it didn't even look like we'd get to a point where we'd even see a translated opening. So, yes, thank you for everything and keep up the good work, and I'll continue to be that creepy little cheerleader on the sidelines.

Thanks, and I remember a long time ago when I was only looking stupidly into the rom.
People grow & learn, and then you have the knowledge to actually do something good.

I'd like to thanks PleoNex btw, he's the one who did all the tools necessary for Shining Force Feather (because I've tons of things to do and Tinke helped ^^)
