a weeks ago some atom monocore at 1.60ghz I have in use returned some intruction sets while messing with the terminal, and one of it read "slow" or something like that. I'll check it, but if that's not sad I don't know what is

For actual use my "low spec" machine would be my living room PC/Media center. 6 core AMD FX 6200 with 10GB's of DDR3 1600 a 1.5TB Spinning drive and a GTX 1050 Ti.

I have older machines but I don't really count those as they are not in normal use. I think the oldest machine I could put back in working order with out ordering more parts would be like a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 single core deal.

I keep flip flopping on the idea of putting my Pentium D 805 back together, it was an amazing overclocker (won the silicon lottery on that chip, and by won I mean totally... I could hit crazy speeds on it and never even needed to touch the voltage one bit.)

ladies and gentlemen, my second most-used pc specs

the "SlowAtom, SlowPshufb" "cpu capabilities" fainted me when i saw it. I know it's a shitty cpu, but the fact that the cpu itself were telling me "im slow" was just too much :rofl2:

I'd like to thank the temp once more for teaching me how to do things. This night, after watching a bunch of people unable te read "SAD" in the title of the thread, I finally moved my ass and learnt how to make gifs

Thank you all for motivating me enough to do this

There's nothing inherent in the Intel Core i7 920 that is stopping it from being overclocked, you most likely just have a motherboard that doesn't allow it.

My old laptop went up in smoke. I have a new one now

Intel core2 duo, 2gb ram, swapped the existing hdd out for my old one.

the laptop's originak hdd had windows xp, and the gpu driver had opengl support.

My old laptop loaded a driver without opengl support and now a lot of my stuff doesn't run :(

That's exactly that. The 920 is a good processor. It can go to 3.2Ghz without a problem and is still pretty viable for gaming. But the constructor's motherboard (Acer m7721) does not allow overclock. I have to change the bios, but that's a really shitty motherboard and i do not want to fry it.

However, my very one problem is not my processor, i like it. It's my graphical card that bother me. I can upgrade for cheap. But at this point, I'd rather buy a new machine.

AMD Phenom II X6 1035T @ 2.6GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM 1333 MHz, 1GB Asus AMD Radeon HD 5750, 3TB Boot Drive, couple other lower capacity hard drives for booting into Ubuntu and Mac OS X respectively.

I can run pretty recent titles at low-medium for the most part. Some others refuse to boot. Anything poorly optimized for lower end hardware is a no-go.

I play a lot of Garry's Mod because I work on development for several servers there, and it runs great as one might expect. Otherwise, I play various fighting games for the most part, which this machine handles decently as well, though its age is definitely showing when I have to turn down settings in some simple 3D fighting games (like DOA 5: Last Round).
