question what is safemode?

ShadowNAND's "Safe Mode" is a safety net that can load safe_mode.bin from your SD in case your stage2 goes bust for some reason. It's mostly good for developers with no hardmod such as myself. It has already saved me more than 50 times so far.

This looks so good, finally a release! Will wait for an actual non pre-alpha release though. Will this work with V1 A9LH? That's what I have installed so d;

So, I realised that, my sd card has a bunch of corrupt folders and files with random names.
Also theres a couple with names, like hfirm or something. Lemme look at this and edit in a few sec

Okay:
2x folder called .bin doe.sn'
1x folder called error: f.irm
1x folder called lid or c.orr
1x file called is inva.lid
1x file called just a bunch of random letters and symbols
1x file called ds max s.ize
1x file called h/firm1..bin
1x file called orrupted.
1x file called USBC; (and then a box)
1x file called USBCY (and then a box)
So...

since safe mode doesnt have firm protection doesnt that mean im fked if i go into safe mode tho cause my sysnand is 11.0 a9lh

if you loaded safe_mode.bin, there's no automatic firmwrite protection because it assumes you load a file that can't over-write firm, or one that protects (like a CFW)

I renamed my d9 bin file to safe_mode.bin after downloading the latest d9 but it won't launch.

Did you put it in the /homebrew/ folder?

help after installing this i cant boot up decrypt 9 from luma payload name and cant boot luma3ds options

im not gunna brick my 3ds anytime soon but i still want to boot up my luma options to enable dev mode or access decrypt 9 for insurance tho

You can use CtrBootmanager9 I linked a page or two back to temporarily boot D9 with it. I guarantee that it works.

Try hourglass9, much safer to use if only for sysnand/emunand backup/restore
