Thanks, Great tutorial! I just have one question when formatting the sysnand every thing on the sysnand will be gone and every thing on my flash drive will be gone on both sysnand and rednand, but every thing on the rednands internal storage will be untouched. Is this right?

Everything in the redNAND internal storage will be untouched, yes.

anyone, when i boot into rednand, and then open the HB app from the sd card,
and then go to the APPstore - it loads and i see all the apps, but then seconds later
it seems to stop working. tried it a couple of times, but it doenst work properly.

I huse the haxchi method to reach the appstore

Sorry, this if this is a stupid question but, could I delete my current Rednand and set it up again?

You need to dump your nand again, the inject option it doesn't work I tested yesterday, the only way when injection works it's if there is no change in the rednand in your I sd.

Well, it didn't work :(... but now I know why. The sd is corrupted towards the end, so the second partition is not complete and that's the reason of the entire problem.

I don't have another 64gb sd, so I'll have to wait until get a new one while I wait for this to be refunded by the seller.

Thanks for your help!

You're welcome. I'm guessing the SD card was fake. The actual capacity was probably 16 or 32 GB. Fake cards or USB flash drives will report a false capacity. They will appear as if they are copying files just fine but once they reach their real capacity they will just start overwriting the previously written data leading to corruption. I would avoid buying flash memory on eBay because there are a lot of sellers who sell fakes. Use Amazon, newegg, or a local shop.

I'm not sure that it's an issue with redNAND or your setup. The App Store has been really derpy for me too. I've had it freeze a couple times lately where it used to work just fine. I think it derps when it has a problem fetching data from wiiubru or wherever it pulls it from.

yeah, its not really a problem, but i dont know either how to check if the dump is good,
or contains bad blocks or something. So everything that doesnt seem to go smooth
i tend to blaim the dump.

Can I apply separate settings for both NANDs? For example, let's say I have:
  • English language, an Internet connection and 1080p resolution on my RedNAND
  • French language, no Internet and 480p resolution on my SysNAND
Will that work?

Also, a kinda off-topic question: You can combine WUPHax-modded vWii and RedNAND, right?

Last edited by CatmanFan,
So I setup rednand on my 32 gb sd card, but i want to switch it, and use the sd card for something else. It was a 32gb micro sd card, and after rednand, it's now 20.6 gb with the white wiiu.
how to i reset it to the original 32 gb state?

Use diskpart to completely format the sd card.

i'm not familiar with diskpart or how it works
i googled it, and it's a windows cmd application
"diskpart"
"list disk"
then you'll see some disks with numbers. Select the one that's your SD card (you'll determine it by the size of the SD card).
"select disk x" x being the number of the drive
"clean"
"convert mbr"
"create partition primary"
"format quick"

after "clean" it says diskpart has encountered an error: Access is denied.

Did you choose the correct drive?
Also, I guess I forgot to mention that you should run CMD as administrator :P
thank you so much!, i lost the wiiu files in the process, because my computer felt like being a slow ass, so I gotta see if they're backed up anywhere.. BUT HEY, THE SD CARD'S FIXED :)

Yes, settings you modify in redNAND don't carry over to sysNAND and vice versa. I'm not quite sure what you're asking in the second part of your post. If you are asking if you can boot the vWill from redNAND then the answer is no. It doesn't matter if you installed HBC via WUPhax or via an exploitable game. Apparently vWill will not launch from redNAND.

I'm fully aware that the vWii cannot launch from RedNAND but I have already set up RedNAND and yes, I have WUPHax-softmodded vWii and RedNAND working :yayu:

Good. OK, sorry for the confusion. I thought you were asking if the vWii was launchable in redNAND if it was modded using WUPHax.

I am getting this error:

Michaels-MacBook-Air:dimokiosu mpkostek$ make

arm-none-eabi-gcc -Wall -mbig-endian -std=c99 -march=armv5 -Os -I/libnds/include -c source/font.c -o build/font.o

make[1]: arm-none-eabi-gcc: No such file or directory

make[1]: *** [build/font.o] Error 1

make: *** [wupserver/wupserver.bin] Error 2

But arm-none-wabi-gcc is in the devkitARM/bin directory. What is the issue?
