I´ve just bought one of those brand new Sega Genesis Mini consoles and it comes bundled with two great controllers that happen to be both comfortable and USB compatible. I assume it would be possible to use them on Genplus GX since Wii has already has three USB ports. Seems like the emu is open-source, so I guess it´s just a matter of find someone who is willing to do some coding to add support to these controllers. Now comes the million dollar question: where can we find such skilled programmer? Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest you to fund a bounty for USB HID support, assuming they work as normal USB joysticks on a PC, for example.

As is normal, interest for Wii homebrew is pretty low these days, since there are newer platforms available. And money talks, as you can see with the awesome recent BBA emulation milestone for Nintendont.
