Very simple edit. No more perspective, just a series of tiles in a line with a slight zoom.
Not sure I particularly like it. I liked the colourful old one. I'm all for having this theme as the default just letting us have the current one as an option. The whole themes thing in NXE is bullshit. its just a load of different backgrounds, they should open the theming up for changing the menus as well as the backgrounds and the friends backgrounds

Oh and as I am already posting it looks like a few things were mixed up for this release so I would not hold my breath for a quick freeboot update (it might still happen but it would not be worth sitting on your chosen site pressing f5 for).

After seeing abit more I've decided I dislike the new theme. Fine with everything other than the fact that the menus are plain white boxes. Everything's so square it hurts. I really wish MS would let people theme properly for the Dashboard (edit menu colours and images etc.) so that Themes are actually worth something.
I'll update because I have to to keep Live though.

I thought that but now I've got it installed it I don't dislike it as much. But I just think it's a step in the wrong direction...I do agree with what you've said though.

I like the concept, but the tiles are so straight and jagged that it just bothers me.

I like the rounded off edges scheme MUCH better.

You can see they have deliberately downgraded it to make it more intuitive for kinect controls.
Hate it, the original dashboard was better.

I actually like it. I thought the older one was a little too "showy" and less functional. This one looks like it would perform quicker and smoother because they made things display cleaner and more simplistic.

i appreciate the way the menu looks like when you press the xbox button on the controller .
it looks much more simplistic .

not so sure about the dashboard,
but it will eventually grow on me i guess .

Don't even start with that. Windows 7 has a LOT of improvements in terms of speed and stability behind the scenes compared to Vista.
